Needed a coffee in Heyford Park. Spacious impressive venue. Only one other customer so no atmosphere. Pleasant helpful staff. Good coffee.

Woeful is the best I can say.Our first visit and also our last which is a shame as we are quite local.Prebooked table for 4 (adults and children) on a quiet Tuesday evening. We were brought menus promptly but then had to wait another 15 minutes for anyone to come back and take drink/food orders. The drinks eventually arrived 30 mins later.Food then took a further 30 mins to arrive, 1 hour after we ordered! To top it all off, chips were stone cold on 3 meals and the 4th meal had shellfish that was so cold we had to question if it had been served from the fridge. This was not eaten to avoid any risk of food poisoning. The service and management is a mess. Poorly managed and poor communication to customers. There were lots of staff ambling around but obviously not focussing on what was needed. The restaurant was very quiet and they blamed the poor service on the bar being busy next door.Avoid this place and try some of the other pubs/restaurants in the area instead.

The atmosphere is great, service is slow, good old fashions though!

Beautiful place, great atmosphere. Not organised properly and service lacks attention. Need more staff on the tables rather than just focusing on the bar. Long wait for average food. Kids menus without even a starter to get kids busy while waiting for the main which might take a while even if we are talking about chips and fish fingers. I am truly disappointed as this local restaurant has such potential and great design but I gave it a go for the third time and none of them left me impressed.I know for personal experience the industry challenges but the restaurant needs to have more organisation front of house and kitchen needs urgent attention as they are slow no matter if it is busy or quiet and serving very average food.

Attended for lunch and had a pepperoni pizza. Waited for half an hour in a near empty restaurant. When the pizza arrived it was absolutely burned on the base and not very well done on the top. Very disappointed. Not much care gone in to the cooking.Service was absolutely excellent.

The food is good but not fantastic and extremely expensive.

Great place. Sat and had a coffee today and loved the friendly atmosphere.

Uncooked lamb, hard roast potatoes. Too cold due to the huge doors either end. Won't be going back.

A chance visit (on the recommendation of our daughter ) for "brunch" led to a delightful experience. The staff (Lauren, Emily Chloe and Tilly)were all welcoming and cheerful, which was wonderful on a grey Monday morning and nothing was too much for them. The scrambled eggs were a real treat the bacon being crisp and very tasty. My wife said it was her best ever!By the way, the coffee was fresh and of the finest quality. We will return!!

Loved this place. ❤️ Friendly staff, nice decor, good coffee.Vegetarian options: Vegan menu, which you can request an addition for vegetarian.Parking: Lots of parking nearby, but beware as the public car park has holes and gets muddy in rain. There are a few parking spaces next to the Heyford Hotel. Remember to enter your registration number at reception.

I don’t know how many more chances to give this place. Always leave extremely disappointed. On my most recent visit, on Tuesday night, as a party of 5 we sat at the table. Waited 10 minutes for menus to arrive. Was then served fairly promptly by a waitress to take our order. The first 3 mains arrived after 15 minutes or so which was perfectly acceptable. 2 of the group then had to wait a further 25 mins for their 2 pizzas, which take all of 5-10 mins to prepare and cook! And even then 1 arrived at the table burnt and totally unsatisfactory, very sparse on the toppings. The only saving grace was being a Tuesday night, it was buy one get one free on the pizzas.Despite there seemingly being sufficient staff on hand, they’re just not attentive and this is a constant theme on each occasion I’ve frequented this establishment. You always have to grab their attention. There is zero management or supervision of the staff. It’s such a shame. The real disappointment, and what is worse, is they know this from countless other similar reviews they’ve received yet have failed to address the problems.

We went to the Baton for a friend's mums 70th Birthday, we had the most fabulous time. Our waitress Megan and a guy I can't remember the name of were amazing. They really tried to make it as special for the birthday girl. Making her own personalised dessert and singing happy birthday. It was just fabulous. We very much enjoyed the food we had also. It was a such a lovely night. Thank you!

The most perfect Anniversary Meal (with the kids!)We visited 'The Baton' restaurant to celebrate our 8th Anniversary (with the kids in tow) on a Tuesday evening after we'd been bowling. The whole experience was amazing! Far, far better than we could have imagined. The main reason for our 5 star review was for the staff who went above and beyond to make our meal out a special one. The waitress was so welcoming and accommodating. The children were encouraged to take part in an animal hunt around the restaurant and bar, with a tick sheet for every animal they found. The food was lovely - especially the pizza's!We were even surprised with complimentary Prosecco, which was lovely! Then to top it off - when our deserts came out - the children had the 'ice-cream of dreams' with sprinkles, toppings and sauce galore. Then out of the kitchen came another wonderful surprise, a decorated plate with fruits and brownies and 'Happy Anniversary' written in chocolate! We felt so special, and it was such a lovely gesture. I could not fault them. I only wish more people visited the hotel, bar, bowling and restaurant as it was so quiet when we were there and it is such a nice place!
