We have been to The Yurt a few times now and it doesn't disappoint ever.Today was no different. The staff are attentive and friendly, they seem to be having a great time time too and this comes through in their service. The food was beautifully presented and everything had been thought about, each part of each course went together perfectly.Great time had by all today. Also, on previous occasions we have taken the dogs and they are made very welcome.

One of the best meals I've had in a long time. Super fresh ingredients, well mixed flavours, and warm, friendly, and attentive staff. This place is wonderful.

As soon as I entered the Yurt, I was made feel very welcomed by members of the staff.I had a latte which was very nice and the barista put much effort to make the drink and I had a croissant which was very delicious. Atmosphere very nice , food tasty and impeccable service. Will come

We had the dog with us so ate in one of their little “sheds” it was such fun! The food was great and the service was fab too. Actually the whole place is amazing with some stunning pieces for the garden. Really high-end. Well worth a visit (and worth going back to again afterwards!)

I’ve been to the Yurt once before this visit and the food was amazing both times. The menu is seasonal and uses locally farmed produce but the presentation and the taste is spectacular. I’m a vegetarian and the veggie options were delicious (there’s even vegan options available!) The staff are incredibly friendly (thanks again to our waiter Lucy!) and the location is beautiful. I couldn’t recommend this place enough and it’s definitely worth a visit. There’s even private huts for those that want to dine privately (although dining in the Yurt is definitely a must) and you can even bring your dog along if you’re going to be dining in the huts. Thank you again to all the wait-staff with special appreciation to the chefs, we had a wonderful time and hope to come again soon.

Thank you to the team at The Yurt, Nicholsons today. A large group Of us had a wonderful festive meal cooked to perfection by the chef and his team. The front of house ladies are also a credit to the yurt, friendly, helpful and full of smiles. Thank you.

We have visited the Yurt several times for both brunch and lunch, and every time we are incredibly impressed by the delicious food and lovely cosy atmosphere. The food is all locally sourced and seasonal with a great variety of choice - ranging from healthy veggie options to delicious cheese soufflees or meat dishes. My daughter is a coeliac and they are very accommodating, and have multiple GF options for starter, main, and dessert. The staff are always lovely and friendly and all round it is a great place to go for a highly enjoyable meal out. We will definitely be visiting again soon!

We love the Yurt and enjoyed our delicious lunch yesterday as always. The experience as a whole however was somewhat tarnished by the poor service; between the several young women who served us there was no warmth of welcome. We felt a little pressurised to order while enjoying our pre-lunch drinks. when our food was brought to us it was 'plonked' down in front of each of us with no smile, eye contact or comment. Generally we felt that 'service' was not on the menu: rather disappointing and off putting.

We recently went to the Autumnal Supper event and were really looking forward to this as it was our first time out since our baby to celebrate our wedding anniversary. However, we both left the event disappointed. The staff were very lovely - even if they were a little eager at times (we kept being asked if we wanted more drinks, even though we still had full glasses) the drinks were very nice and the atmosphere was great. However the food was the let down.We started with the canapés, and as im lactose intolerant, we only seemed to receive one choice out of the two - even though my husband can eat dairy. These were very lovely but odd that my husband only received the dairy free option too.Sadly I really didn’t like the starter and thought the horseradish sorbet was paired with too much beetroot so the starter was too overwhelming so my husband ate both of ours! We both thought the main was nice, If not a little basic, and covered too much in a bed of kale - almost to disguise whatever was underneath. However, the section that really let the meal down was the dessert. I’m very much a dessert person and thought chocolate cake sounded nice, even if it a little basic again. Sadly, what I received wasn’t cake but more of an dry biscuit! It was also served with sorbet, which was nice, but definitely didn’t work with the cake (my husband had a beautiful ice cream!) I do understand that it’s a little harder to get a good dairy free cake and dairy free ice cream but if Asda can make one good then surely it’s not too hard? The main issue was that I said to the waiter that it was really dry and if there was an alternative and she came back with “the chef is aware the moisture levels aren’t what was expected. Sorry about that” and simply walked away. I looked at my husband shocked that they didn’t want to even attempt to give me something edible. A minute later I then had to ask whether there was something else I could have in which they bought me out two scoops of sorbet. We were very disappointed to finish our meal this way, especially on such an occasion, and are still shocked that 1. The chef was aware and still served the food in that way, especially when the event wasn’t cheap and 2. We just had a ‘sorry about that’ rather than a solution.

The Yurt is a hidden gem and an absolute delight!Delicious food, prompt and polite service, and a lovely atmosphere especially in the winter when the log burner is lit.Their sustainability credentials are also very impressive, with locally sourced ingredients and wine, including some produce grown on their own site.Vegetarian options: There is a very impressive range of creative vegetarian dishes, and it is refreshing that meat dishes are the minor element
