I have eaten at this pub a couple of times recently, since its been under new management and it seemed fine, so I booked a Sunday lunch for my family. When we arrived ON TIME, we were told that there was no table for us, we were five as per booking. The "waitress" then took us to the bar area, asked someone to move to another table, so we could have their table (which seated four) and was located under the TV which of course was showing some sport program for the bar! I said that that was unsuitable for us for lunch and she then said that we'll also have to "wait at least and hour to an hour and a half for any food" that we required. Not a particularly good welcome! I decided that we wouldn't stay. The place was full and I reminded her that we had booked a table over a week previously and her reply was that she "couldn't refuse customers who had come in without booking" and presumedly taken our table! I suggested that not could she refuse, but she actually should, as the White Horse already had a contract with me and that she should have made sure that there was a table available. I did ask if she was the manager and she said "no" and didn't offer to get the manager to speak to me. I know that this pub is under new management and that Green King seems to be investing in it, but currently it does not in my opinion meet the "Green King Standards". I have used and will continue to use many Green King pubs, however, this one needs significant work with their procedures and staff training. I hope that Green King management staff will follow up with them in the near future as their company reputation could be easily damaged by this poor Customer Service.

Came in for dinner and my my what a surprise, the food was absolutely delicious had to tip the chef as it was that good!! Thank you Tasha for amazing food and served promptly and very high quality. Excellent bar staff thank you Stephanie!!!!

We organised a company lunch here and it was lovely. We had pre-ordered, and the food came out within half an hour of our arrival. The food portions were a great size and excellent value for money. It was great that they also had vegan options. We enjoyed a lovely morning where the pub had planned 'Breakfast with Elsa'. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating, the food which came out was generous in size and good value for money! Felt very comfortable there with our two young children and family friends:) Thank you!

We have been to this pub many times and normally pretty good but We visited this afternoon the service was terrible we ordered food which took 20 mins to arrive then when the food arrived it was cold and we was told this was because it had been sat in the kitchen but no one brought it out to us, we raised our concerns to the young girl behind the bar who just told us there was nothing they could do, its such a shame that today's visit was a bad one and thought they would of at least offered us some sort of compensation but instead nothing was offered, won't be visiting again purely for the service provided today won't recommend to friends or family, terrible service
