I ‘popped’ in to Huffkins takeaway to get a few hot drinks whilst walking around Burford with some friends and unfortunately had a very bad experience. This was due to a very inexperienced member of staff who had been left unsupervised over lunchtime service. Not only did the drinks take approximately 10 minutes to make, but they did not even remotely resemble coffee, more like luke warm milky water. I was in there for 20 mins in total, with one other customer ahead of me, who also had the same experience. Do not waste your time or money - there are plenty of other really wonderful coffee shops in Burford that are far better.

A lovely tearoom with great staff and great food. Had the butternut squash and sweet potato soup with cheese scone, wonderful! Highly recommend.Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs for young kids.

The staff were wonderful and friendly. I had the best service ever . The afternoon tea was scrumptious, super yummy, taste bud dancing and delicious. The highlight was that Coffee eclair. It was snapped up quickly by me. The combination of cream and sweetness of the coffee infused icing was perfect. I will certainly come again. Huffs is the best shop in Burford

Very busy tea room. Not worth the price. Scone is good that was the only positive. Toilet was out of service. The service was slow and staff looks like very busy and under stress. That was the first (and last) celebration afternoon tea at Huffkins..

Friendly staff, cosy atmosphere, right in the middle of High Street. We loved the Cream Tea experience!

A lovely Huffkins, came here on a Thursday morning and was completely empty, staff were efficient and attentive. Food was the reason it’s not five star, though we were the first customers of the day a lot of the food tasted stale and dry. I’m not sure if they gave us leftovers from the previous day or if the food was just low quality. It tasted fine and was a nice little morning treat and I know that usually their breakfasts are fabulous so highly recommend.

Amazing food and incredible service. The young French waiter in particular was very friendly and polite. Some of the best service we’ve received anywhere!

Extremely polite and very friendly. Cream tea and coronation sandwiches tasted wonderful, the complimentary orange juice (with bits - my favourite) was a bonus. Thank you

We waited for a table and after 5 minutes we were seated, ok so far so good. We sat and we sat and we sat for 20 minutes until inquiring about the lack of service. We were told that we needed to order at the counter! The young man who seated us never mentioned it but once told we did see this notification at the bottom of the menu and on a small silver item not placed where we could see it. How about a bigger sign that no one can miss when you walk in? On the other hand, the tea and scone were very good. While eating, we heard the young man inform everyone that he seated from then on how the ordering process works.

Ok so lovely little place, nice food pleasant staff, unfortunately yet again that spreading stink of corporation, did not take cash !!! What is so wrong with cash? Don't they trust the staff? Have they not got a competent manager? Who can count? What ever the reason I use cash and if it hadn't been for the fact I'd been driving for 2 1/2 hours I would have gone somewhere else.

We travelled from London for a family trip and had planned to visit to Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens. We were a bit late so wanted to have the lunch on the go.Saw the "Huffkins" bakery and ordered a mix of 6 sandwiches and toasties which costed under £30 (takeaway). The bakery was pretty much empty as there we only a few tables at the front occupied and all the tables at the back were empty! We were asked to wait 10 mins as our takeaway was being prepared. We sat down around an empty table and waited for the food to be ready. The server handed our food to us and we said hey these are toasted sandwiches what if we quickly eat as the are served hot and we were hungry too!We took a seat and one of us checked with the server, he said it's quiet so should be fine. He was kind enough to bring us some tissues as well.2 mins after another staff came to us and said it's their policy that they charge "eat-in" price as we decided to eat from our pastry bags! We said its fair and happy to pay the difference, thinking it will be 20% of £30, max! This second server came with a bill of £27 and some change for a £30 food bill!I mean we are used with Eat-in/Takeaway price but come on! We decided to leave within 4-5 mins of sitting down and as originally planned had the sandwiches on the go.They were happy to show us a wave good bye!Hence my review, tasty food but be aware of their price policy!

Had the afternoon tea and it was so good! The spicy tomato and caramelised onion chutney sandwich was to die for, unlimited refills of drinks with the afternoon tea made it all the better!Staff were lovely and so kind, very attentive and the store was very clean.Had a lovely experience 10/10 would come again.

A shadow of its former self. Used to visit all the time for breakfast or lunch. Now a reduced menu just catering for tourists. Left before ordering as the menu offered little. So many other local places to try over this former gem.

NOT value for money. We visited this location a few years ago and had a lovely experience. However, today, the same cannot be said. I appreciate that the cost of things rise, and that some businesses truly struggled during the pandemic, but to pass that extreme cost onto your customers and then some is not a good way to run your local business. Stinging people who choose to frequent your establishment is bad practice. Won't be coming back next time we visit the area.
