Nice cosy old style pub downstairs with a nostalgic fire place - the real deal not electric ones... Nice friendly staff. We only had drinks so couldn't comment on food but saw many happy dinners ?Worth a snug with warm tea or firey whisk on any cold night!

Lovely pub. Staff very friendly and helpful. The reason not 5 stars is because I ordered the bacon and goat cheese and red onion baguette But I got given the chicken bacon and mayonnaise. Was OK but not what I ordered. And the chips was amazing. I didn't say anything as staff were so friendly and didn't want to get anyone into trouble.Wheelchair accessibility: We had two mobility scooters a pram and an assistance dog. The young lady came and put ramp out for us and then helped us get scooters out after lunch. Thank you.

We called in mid afternoon. Nice old fashioned feeling pub. Dog friendly. We had a yummy butty each - mine coronation chicken & hubbie had a fish butty. We had a portion of chips, the dog enjoyed them immensely. Pint of IPA & pint of Abbots were excellent. Just the right temperature. Definitely call back again if we are in the area.

Decent pub in a lovely town.Food was good, pie and a pint deal on a week day. Started with a delicious baked Camembert and baguette, followed by a tasty pie, followed up with a delicious apple pie and crumble. The only real thing that let the experience down was that it took around 2 and a half hours for the whole meal.Table service started well, then I think our server swapped shifts and it fell apart.Still a good meal just took a bloody long time ?

Stopped into the meraid for a quick bite to eat and a drink. Great food and good service. Came back tonight afterthe first visit yesterday as it was such a nice place. Great atmosphere and they even put the football on for me when I asked even though it wasn't on.

Best Fish & Chips Around. Located in the heart of Burford, this charming Pub is a welcome respite from the shops on High Street. The excellent black and white photographs on the wall and the well selected music give this place a terrific vibe but the oversized Fish & Chips make this place really special. If you’re visiting the Cotswolds, make sure this place is on your itinerary.

Really friendly pub whose staff took great care of us for our group booking. Excellent food.

My wife and I came for lunch after an extremely enjoyable trip round the Oxford Shirt Co. We ordered a Virgin Mary and half a bitter. You had no tomato juice so we settled on a FT tonic. We ordered tomato soup (soup of the day) and Hummus plus nuts. After 30 mins sitting in your cramped and loud back courtyard we gave up waiting and left. So £17.10 for a soft drink and half a pint of bitter I believe is pretty pricey. Considering the visitors to Burford you would have thought that a pub on the high street should be or could be booming. I imagine you will end up bust unless you get staff to actually do what they are required to do. What a shame.
