Really cosy country pub. Rang ahead on NYE lunch asking if they were serving roasts, they weren’t but the manager said they could cook me one anyway! Arrived to a roaring fire, a friendly welcome and one of the tastiest roasts I’ve had in a long time. Can’t fault service like that. Big thank you ?

Such an amazing experience! Matt has extensive knowledge in hospitality, and the risotto with ossobuco was to die for…. And of course the sticky toffee pudding was delicious!

I want to shout about this place….and also say nothing and keep it a secret before it’s discovered by many!! An absolute gem. Amazing owners who have an in depth knowledge and passion for what they do, where the food and produce, matters more than the fluffing. Phenomenal food, and I mean, fantastic, along with a genuine, personable service. Without doubt, we will travel a couple of villages and make this a local, a must visit!

Stayed in Shilton with family and had dinner here on two evenings. Amazing food and such a great atmosphere. Matt the owner was so welcoming and as I missed out on mussels on our first night, made sure he ordered some so I could have them on the Saturday. They were excellent as were the tempura prawns! The men all enjoyed the local draught beers, hence our visit each evening! Thank you.Highly recommend this brilliant village pub.

Fabulous evening, great hosts & fantastic food. Tempura prawns were especially good. Lovely memories of my childhood when I visited with my Great Aunt. Host managed to get it all right for my fussy Hubbie too!!

Longhorn steak for 2, amazing. No steak knife required. Tempura prawns are probably the best I've have beautify cooked in a light and bubbly batter. Says to share, I don't think so.Super knowledgeable matt knows his wines. Amazing malbec to go with the steak.

Probably my favourite little Cotswolds pub. A quiet little spot in a secluded village. Haven’t eaten here before but always happy to stop by for the friendly service and a nice cold beer.
