“It was an absolute pleasure to visit The Red Lion Inn in September, 2023. We were exhausted after spending the entire day at the WB Studio Tour in London, and we arrived just as the kitchen was about to close. A very kind and heartwarming lady checked us in and immediately took our food order so that we could eat before heading to our room. We ordered the Fish and Chips and the Chicken. Both dishes were quite generous (which we didn't mind at all because we were starving) and incredibly tasty. The ambiance is incredibly pleasant and relaxing, and Bella, the dog, was such a sweetheart.The rooms were exceptionally comfortable and quiet. We wished we had one more night to enjoy our stay and the room a bit better. The room was clean, the bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, and the bathroom was beautiful. It was Hobbit's day, and we got to experience it with the tiny doors that required a bit of crouching to pass through, but nothing that would deter anyone from staying there.Now, let's talk about breakfast. What an experience! We are not from the UK, so we had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious and authentic English Breakfast in a room filled with other very kind guests. It was simply brilliant. We loved every single aspect of our stay at The Red Lion Inn and can't recommend it highly enough.Once again, we would like to thank the lady that check us in. Unfortunately, we forgot your name but you were very kind to us and made the whole experience even better.”

“I had an amazing experience at this pub! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure our drinks were always full and our food was delicious. Speaking of food, the menu had a great variety of options, and everything we ordered was superb.The ambiance here is perfect for a casual evening with friends or a cozy date night. They also have a fantastic selection of drinks, including excellent local beers.I can’t wait to return and enjoy more memorable moments at this gem of a pub!Rooms: Quite warm…”

“Great pub with a great atmosphere and good food. We stayed 2 nights and found the room very comfortable and well appointed. Garden area is deceptively large and well appointed with lovely outdoor kitchen. Wish we had more opportunity to enjoy it, but food we had in restaurant was good value- and generous portions. Everyone was really friendly with a genuine interest in delivering a good service. hope to return some timeRooms: large top floor room with comfortable bed and large bath. well appointedFood & drinks: great food and extensive wine list”

“My daughter booked this pub as she was staying in the area and we travelled from Hampshire and our journey was certainly worth it. We shared between the 3 of us a grilled calamari starter and a cheese souffle. All extremely good, with lots of flavour. We all chose the roast chicken dinner and it was a struggle to finish it as the portions were very generous, excellent roast potatoes and accompanying vegetables (see photos). The corn fed chicken was perfect. No room for desserts unfortunately. Served by Tony, very friendly and engaging and we thought the bill was reasonable for such good quality food. Lovely rustic but not in a shabby way pub with a nice ambience on a Sunday lunchtime. I would love to try their other offerings.”

“100% recommended. The Blue Boar is a lovely pub steeped in character, we will definitely be back soon! One mark down on the food as the sponge pudding was slightly dry, but otherwise the meal was fantastic.Vegetarian options: Plenty of choice and you are asked about any dietary requirements before ordering. Staff were very knowledgeable and efficient.Parking: Plenty of free parking in the town car park (5 mins walk away).”
