We stopped by for a Sunday roast and had full three courses, for starters we had light bites croquettes and buttermilk chicken, these were very tasty, followed by a beef and lamb roast, both ample portions and extremely tender and tasty meats. Dessert we barely had room for were a chocolate mousse and a cheesecake, both we could not fault. Attentive Maggie ensured our visit was pleasant and we had all we needed. We will be back once, we gotten over our food coma!Food & drinks: Great food and lovely wines, did not disappoint. A bit pricier than some others in the area but worth the money nonetheless.

The perfect place for a Christmas celebration! We were greeted by a friendly waiter who took us to a table right by the fireplace, and there were blankets on the backs of our chairs if we were still feeling chilly! We started with delicious garlic bread, which we ended up sharing with another table of guests after they noticed how good it looked! We were worried that if we finished it off we wouldn't have been able to eat our main course which was Fish and Chips and Roasted Crown Prince Pumpkin, both of which were delicious!

Lovely place, very peaceful. Went for one night early December and everything was lovely. Friendly staff, nice rooms, cozy bar and dining area with great food! Would definitely go again.

We had a delightful stay for our 2 year anniversary at the weekend at The Swan. I had booked to stay in a stunning room with a bath in it which was lovely but a little noisy from the pub downstairs. My own fault when booking. I mentioned this to the general manager Emma who could not have been more helpful and moved us to the Pen for our second night which I believe is one of the newer rooms away from the main building. Gorgeous and cosy, couldn't have been happier. So peaceful, one of the best nights sleep we have had in a long time and such comfortable beds. All staff super friendly and helpful. If I had to find any criticism it would be our meal at the pub on the first night. My husbands steak was very tough and the overall cost of dinner that night was pretty high. Also toast at breakfast could be a little less flimsy. However, pizzas on the Saturday night were amazing. That aside, we would definitely recommend and stay again at this lovely pub.

From the moment we walked through the doors we were greeted with a warm welcome and two of what was to be many pints of bitter. We hosted my birthday lunch and the service was outstanding. Food was incredible, with the bitter and rosé flowing seamlessly. The accomodation was beautiful and warm when we walked in. Jake and the team went beyond to make our stay memorable, oh and Robin the local who’d go around making sure all the fires were burning.Walkability: If you’re a walker, there are some great walks and the countryside is beautiful even on a rainy day, which was when we walked.Food & drinks: The burgers are a strong recommendation.

The Swan is a lovely country pub with well furnished rooms. The staff were all super friendly and helpful, the food (dinner, breakfast and lunch) was delicious. A fabulous place for a relaxing break, with luxury thrown in without any pretension.

Lovely Sunday lunch with family, service was slow to start but it was busy and our charming waiter apologised for the wait. Having now seen the beautiful outside space and kitchen ( under cover) I look forward to trying a pizza next spring ?Food & drinks: Roast beef was excellent, roast potatoes a little disappointing

I had the most insanely delicious sunday roast here yesterday and felt compelled to post a review! The warm, cosy ambience and prompt but personable service was spot on. I'll be coming back again and again. Thank you!

Great pub with a great atmosphere and good food. We stayed 2 nights and found the room very comfortable and well appointed. Garden area is deceptively large and well appointed with lovely outdoor kitchen. Wish we had more opportunity to enjoy it, but food we had in restaurant was good value- and generous portions. Everyone was really friendly with a genuine interest in delivering a good service. hope to return some timeRooms: large top floor room with comfortable bed and large bath. well appointedFood & drinks: great food and extensive wine list

We booked out the back room for a baby shower on Saturday lunch. The room was beautiful, the food was amazing and the waiter that helped us decorate, set up and serve us drinks all afternoon was fab. Thank you so much it was a lovely afternoon.

If I could give this place 7 stars I would. I had the best roast beef Sunday lunch here that I’ve ever had. So tasty, superb meat, every component wonderful. Desserts were pretty good too. Highly

We ate there on Sunday 10th Sept, we were unavoidably late but the staff were very friendly and helpful despite that. The building is old and full of atmosphere, the food was good and we would definitely eat here again, and also stay here if we were looking to stay in this area again.
