I have consistently had a great experience at Kolkate in Didcot! I have always enjoyed the food and service there, both when dining in and getting takeout. It's always a good sign when a restaurant can maintain high quality across different dining experiences.Despite the competition in the area, this restaurant stands out to me due to its consistently excellent food and the service makes it stand head and shoulders above the rest.

I've eaten here a number of times, every one of them a delight. This evening we attended as a table of 8 for my husband's birthday and the service and food was excellent! Ali was accommodating, made suggestions for the table and made us all feel very welcome. I've no doubt we'll return again. Thanks!

Whilst the food is typical high street fayre and was little short of average. I was far more disappointed looking back on the evening having realised that we were very likely over charged for our food. Something I hear happens regularly at the Kulkuta.And even more disappointing was the bullying behaviour of one senior staff member. Who referred to one of their own dishes as baby food and then continued to make negative and undermining comments throughout the evening, to my son about his choice of this dish. I found this member of staff rude, and ignorant. He came across as arrogant, and disrespectful. Seeking to gain out of humiliation. The saddest thing is that he is undermining food served in his own restaurant. And his customers whose custom help pay his wages and allow for his business to survive.
