When they actually do food it's good and a good price. I've been there many times to be told they are only doing sandwiches or toasties. And the drinks machine is never working so you have to pay double what you would for a bottled coke. Shame as it was thriving years ago.

It's OK. But generally staff see it as a social club for a chat rather than a work place.

We were staying nearby, and called in here for a couple of breakfasts. Good value for a perfectly acceptable cooked breakfast.

We went in for lunch & told for the third time “we’re not doing hot food” ... The second occasion when they weren’t doing hot food we were told there wasn’t anybody working who can cook ... Clearly the management are doing a very good job

Honestly if only could give 0 stars I would. I ordered a simple bite size breakfast that includes toast, baked beans, hash brown, a sausage and a fried egg. Well the egg was not cooked properly, the food was cold and they used so many baked beans to fill the space of the plate. It took them 45 minutes to get my meal out. My partner had salmon and scrambled eggs on toast which was again cold and it was packaged salmon so they didn't have to cook it, yet it took this long. People had come and ordered after us got served their food and left before we got ours. The food was mediocre and cold and the service was worse. I will not be spending my money here again.

The food is better in a North Korean jail cell.

Staff are always very helpful on the shopfloor and most items are always in stock. The only negative is that there never seems to be enough checkouts open, queues are a big problem at this store.

When this place first opened it was fantastic, not least as an alternative to the really aweful Tescos. Over the years the service has become worse, the quality of produce is poor, their pricing is inconsistent and you always have to be very wary of their expiry dates. If you want to buy alcohol also make sure that you go to a checkout assistant who is clearly over 18 otherwise you could be in for a VERY long wait as the checkout supervisors (one in particular) are terrible and actively look in other direction. If I had a choice (I dont count Tesco as an option) I wouldn't shop her.

I cannot give this place 5 stars, no matter how lovely it is, because more than three times I have caught them selling EXPIRED FOOD at full price as though it was fresh. bleck Otherwise it is fantastic we now have a Sainsbury's to offer an alternative to Tesco!
