Quiet Christmas Roast lunch for four. Great food, open fire, friendly Landlord. Will definitely use again.

Very nice food, and great hospitality from Shea. A lovely pub with a relaxed atmosphere. Thanks for having us.

Went in looking for a new local after recently moving to the area but…As others have mentioned, the landlord is rude and classless, making several facetious comments towards us before we left after one pint. He also served the locals before us, despite arriving after.Don’t bother

Had the most amazing Sunday lunch carvery yesterday. Wonderful old village pub, great atmosphere, good service, and the food was delicious. A choice of 4 meats then as much veg, yorkshire puds and gravy as you wanted. All fresh and beautifully cooked with so much flavour, what a find. loved it and will definitely be back.

The Sunday roast choices were well cooked and very tasty.Waitress was polite & attentive.Unfortunate that the Landlord is quite so obsessed about footwear in his pub☹️We had been warned that dogs & dirty boots were unwelcome. So our group had all changed out of our walking clothes & footwear. But still the Landlord felt it necessary to come and ask about our shoes? The Landlord’s attitude would make me think twice before going backVegetarian options: These would only be offered with advanced warning

Absolutely fantastic little pub.Came in on Sunday evening and despite having stopped doing food at lunchtime, the landlord very kindly offered to get us some leftovers from the carvery. Probably the best gammon/chicken/lamb I've ever had in a pub, and excellent vegetables and potatoes.Draught beer was very good, and the atmosphere was quiet (as it was late on Sunday) and very friendly.Would definitely visit again at a more normal time, thank you!

Great venue, proper English carvery roast, choice of 4 meats (lamb, gammon, pork, chicken) and all the accompanying traditionals ie. Yorkshires, stuffing, crackling!! Really enjoyed it, fab value and friendly welcome. Will be going again and spreading the word! Typical English Sunday lunch, loved it.

First time at our new local pub after moving to lovely Chilton. Good selection of beers, the typical country pub outfit and some great food even tho delivery took a bit longer. The pubs menu can be found on the blackboard, have added a picture. Will definitely come again over the next weeks.

A beautiful little spot, good food, good service and friendly staff. It is a small pub/restaurant, which I imagine gets very busy during peak times. Does not have a vast selection of different drinks, but there is still a choice.
