Poor service and food was not good. Waited 40 mins for our drinks with no apology. Meal was not nice but had no chance to say this as they didn’t even bother to check on us once this was received. Won’t be

I visited the establishment for my birthday meal and I wish I had read all of the reviews before I went because 30% of them are VERY POOR! Our tablet was right in the centre of the busy area (so couldn't be missed) but however our waitress was extremely forgetful... she would forget to take our order, bring things we ordered or ask us if we wanted any more drinks. I had to wave her down each time which was embarrassing for me. And as much as I love a roast dinner, I dont enjoy eating my yorkshire pudding on its own at the end. Anyway, these were the red flags I should of picked up but I continued to enjoy my company. So the bill comes, and its a special occasion so although spending almost £300 on a roast dinner for 4 we decided to go to the bar to continue the party. As soon as I got to the bar I was asked to wait whilst the barman got his previous order ready (Which is fine), I then went on to ask him for 4 tequilla rose shots..he responded "They are too expensive" and then said £10 each. I hadnt asked for the price and nor did I think the bar man would tell anyone else in that restaurant that the shot is too expensive. My friends and I (all who are of colour) were really offended by his remark. He then went on to pour a clear shot, I said that the tequilla rose and he replied yes its a premium version we do its flavoured tequilla. I then responded that thats not what we had asked for and asked him to replace it for something not so strong. The comment really bothered us all but the overall experience made us feel invisible there. At no point did I mention a refund, that wasnt what I wanted, it was a birthday meal and we wanted to be treated like paying customers. I then reached out to the restaurant over Instagram as I am a food and lifestyle blogger and my friends also agreed that I should raise this with them. A lady from the restaurant responded quite abruptly and asked for my number. On the phone she said "theres no way he would of said it like that". As a paying customer I expect you to investigate racism thoroughly - she then went on to make her own dialogue up with "his side of the story" when it must of all been recorded on CCTV. I also had 3 witnesses. She went on to say "my husband is nigerian" - which is COMPLETELY irrelevant to my complaint. She didnt resolve the issue, instead sent me a follow up on message on IG offering me a free birthday drink lol I didnt complain to get free drinks. If me and my guests are visiting a restaurant we expect them to treat us with respect and then for management to take this matter seriously and not brush it off as a "misunderstanding" on my part. I will continue to raise awareness until the establishment takes FULL accountability for this incident.

Popped into Henley to do some Christmas shopping, Gorvett & Stone and Calvert Jones are brilliant! Stopped off for a quick bite to eat, the pizzas here are the best in town! The nduja & pepperoni pizza is something else! Tried a few of the new festive cocktails, really good. Perfect spot to stop in town!

Though it looks good and has a nice ambience, do not visit! We ordered 5 pizza’s from the pizza menu and all of them came burnt! My sister ordered a burger and enjoyed it, but the rest of the evening felt sick and threw up, likely due to food poisoning. This restaurant has gone downhill since the last year we visited it. Do not eat here!!!!

Sorry to say the food was really bad. Burnt pizzas, (though the one we sent back was replaced quickly), tasteless mussels, and the iron-stomached child who had the beefburger just threw it back up in a pretty clear case of the cause being bad food.

Went to the Hart Street Tavern for a Xmas Eve lunch which fell on a Sunday so it was the Sunday menu . We were going to order the Sunday roast but luckily baby Jesus smiled down on us. The table next to us had Sunday lunches served before we ordered - one look at their faces of absolute horror and we changed our order to 2 chicken burgers, as the rest of the menu was limited due to it being Sunday. Burgers were £18 each and were served with ‘house fries’. Burger was dry and bland and a little overcooked and and it took up about half the bun. Fries were pretty good and we also ordered 2 beers and a glass of house wine The bill came to £64 which took an added 20 minutes to get, and included a generous tip for the service. This is the season of goodwill but that was pretty poor by any standards. Won’t be going back anytime soon.

Dueto the great ambiance we previously had come here for a few pre diner drinks before heading out somewhere this time we thought we would eat here. But seeing tripadvisor rating of 3.5 I started to have second thoughts..... but we were very nicely surprised some of the best pork fillet I have tasted and perfectly cooked. The belly of pork was equally amazing. We could not fault it so clearly the food was not the issue. Maybe service.... Nope that was also some of the best we have had for a little while friendly prompt and when they did not have the beer I wanted they bent over backwards to find something I liked (and succeeded). So brilliant night, great food, service spot on (there only when you needed them, attentive and very friendly). Great vibe...... So clearly some might have felt they got a 3.5 service in the past but we certainly got 5 out of 5 service/food and great value for money.

Just had the official Bertie Slippers staff lunch at The Hart Street Tavern in Henley. To say it was the best Christmas lunch I’ve ever had would be a huge understatement . Absolutely delicious. 10/10 Thank you ?

Service appallingly slow. For a chef that has worked in Michelin stared restaurants the menu is sad. I ordered a rare sirloin steak, it arrived over cooked and was happily replaced in 10 minutes, unfortunately it was Blue, I could live with that but it was taking me 3+ minutes to chew 1 mouthful, I gave up. They did not charge. Wine was very expensive for a Bistro [that is what it is] £140 + service for a mediocre Meursault! I will not be returning.

Great music, great service, great food, and not too busy! Would recommend if you're in Henley.

Fairly okay burger. Ice cream for desert arrives. Small, sharp bit of plastic found inside. It gets sent back to the kitchen and a replacement arrives. Only to find yet another piece. Luckily caught before it was swallowed.

When I read the reviews about hart street I was shocked as a local I have always loved Hart Street and the times I have been have always been enjoyable. I am not one to write reviews but I always read them before I go anywhere, I would like to let everyone else who may be reading these reviews that Hart Street has always been my favourite Dinner or Sunday lunch spot in henley. I went to Hart Street last Sunday and I had the most wonderful staff serving me. They were fully aware of what was on the menu both drinks and food. This made the whole dining experience better as I always know what I will be receiving. I came with my family and son who had a nut allergy, they were very accommodating to this and made him feel comfortable about the food he was eating. Both front of house and management team are just superb, This is a restaurant where I come with friends or family and they always want to go back. We had sat on the lovely circle tables, which led to it being easy to communicate with my family across the table. Hart Street is one of my favourite spots to celebrate as they always make birthday plates which make anyone who receives them feel so looked after. They are so accommodating for any customer requirements, I asked the waitress if the bartender could make me an Oat Latte with a bit of chocolate in it, she assured me that he could do that. When it came out it the latte art is phenomenal and it was one of the best Oat milk lattes I have had. I would highly recommend everyone to go here.

It has always been a nice place to go to for dinner. This time - piano man was loud and not great tunes. Staff seemed more interested in chatting to themselves including the manager, so had to keep putting hand up - nearly had to get up and find someone to get the bill. Food - ok - missed the flat iron steak that seemed to have gone from the menu. Just all a bit meh, which is a shame.

Brilliant service and delicious food. Me and my partner came out for a long awaited dinner together and left extremely happy. The was food full of flavour, especially the lamb (highly recommend). You really can tell the quality is fantastic. The service we received was outstanding. Really attentive staff and very friendly. The manager very charming and seems to have a great team put together. We don’t eat out every week but for sure our new favourite and can’t wait to return soon. Thanks all for a really nice meal.
