A beautiful old Riverside pub, with a great terrace, but inside mostly laid out for dining. Very limited drinks area. Pricey, as you might expect, being on the river in Henley.

I love this pub. The people, the ambiance, the ales, all great!I like the Sunday Roast because it is a plateful of delicious stuff, just a really nice meal. The one downfall, and it is a moderately big one, is that the beef is sliced thin and done Medium to Medium Well. The Angel's beef usually has a little pink in the center but almost no red.British Beef is some of the best in the world but even it can not thrive if it is over cooked.

We had a really enjoyable birthday meal, in a small family group with a dog, early evening on Saturday. We arrived in the last few minutes of the rugby in which England beat Ireland by a single point in the dying seconds of the game so the atmosphere was buzzing but not rowdy. Our carnivore, veggie & vegan requirements were catered for and well behaved dogs were welcome too. Great service & Brakspear beer, of course.

Expected bar prices to be high in Henley but this place beat them all. Nothing special in fact looks quite run down from outside. Bought a round for 4 people didn’t get a receipt but over £34!! Bought the next round and asked for a receipt to check. £11 for a glass of red wine totally unjustified a pure ripoff would never visit again.

The Angel is a cosy place, with bare floors. The service team works hard, and the food is good. I had a pie of the day, which had a soft crust.

Great atmosphere but for London prices would at least London quality food but was nothing short of average for English pub. If prices were 30% lower it would be 5/5
Great female bar staff. A ray of golden sunshine. Sorry, didn't catch your name ?

Attentive barstaff, clean, warm welcoming public house. Only gripe tables by fire were booked for a group for 7pm group never turned up until gone 8pm and no-one else was allowed to sit by the fire, a suggestion to the owners, if table reservation persons haven't turned up with a 15minute period maybe offer the table out to the paying customers who are in the pub already spending money!

Always a wonderful experience. I had the vegan burger this time, and it was so nice. I'm not vegan, so I was impressed with how good it tasted.
