We went for dinner. I don't even know if the place has rooms, so this should probably be a pub review rather than a hotel. A gorgeous building with good staff, but the £38 rib eye steak did not represent value for money. In an area with superb meat suppliers this was mediocre. The whitebait were tiny and overcooked. The Merlot was good and a good recommendation.

Great breakfast, but noisy room and plumbing.Poor customer service. I left behind an electrical item in the room, so rang when I realised. Said they would check and call me. I didn't get a call so rang again to be told it had been sent by post. I have never received it back and despite me ringing12 times since I have not been able to talk to anybody relevant or get a call back.Rooms: No sound proofing to walls or door, unfortunately woman in adjoining room coughed from the moment she entered the building. Trap to our basin glugged and gurgled every time water was used in adjoining room.

Delicious Sunday lunch in a lovely cosy pub

Came for a meal with my husband. Both had the same food so I can't attest for anything aside the burger and the sticky toffee pudding. What an absolute triumph they were, my absolute compliments to the chef.Lovely little pub, look forward to visiting in the summer as the gardens look gorgeous!

We had dinner here as a group. While then menu is limited, this is to the benefit of good quality food.Nice country location, good parking and friendly and helpful staff.

We had roast lamb sharing plater for Sunday lunch and it was fantastic, the service was also very friendly, we thought it was also good value, (the lamb joint was too much for us, so we took a doggie bag home!) Thank you, Cheery Tree and staff hope to see you again soon, Andy Valentine.

Had high hopes as The Cherry Tree was a good reputation. My elderly mother was visiting with my sister and brother-in-law. We were seated next to the toilets and found the radiator was on full heat, despite the sunny day. It was by far too hot, and so we asked if it could be turned off, but there was no response. The gentleman (owner? manager?) taking the order was very jovial and good natured. We could have coped with the heat, but it was as though our order was given lowest priority, despite arriving at 12:30 when there were few tables taken. I understand there were ~40 customers from the local football club in the back, but other tables had their food served before us, despite ordering after (and similar orders). In the end, I had to ask where our food was, and then (by chance?) it arrived moments later. The pie was tasty, but perhaps it was kept in an oven as the pastry was quite black (covered in gravy perhaps to hide this). The vegetables with the pie were a little meager, and the peas cold with the fish and chips.I believe the ladies toilet was out of order, and so the disabled toilet was being used, but more so as a place for children to misbehave. It became quite a mess with sweet wrappers and water on the floor. Not good for my mother who had to use the facilities after waiting for the food for so long.My mother was too tired and so we did not have dessert, and left at 14:30. Unfortunately, she just wanted to get some rest, so it spoilt our plans for the afternoon.

We've eaten here a few times and never been disappointed. The pub itself is also very beautiful.

A superb roast, well-priced for the quality, and a very friendly welcome too.

This is a lovely, family-run pub with a terrific breakfast. We stayed in Cherry which was very comfy with separate access from the pub, tea-making things, piping hot water. We had a very nice chat with Dan over the Full English and smoked salmon with scrambled egg. Ditto with a one of couple of non-residents who came in for breakfast too. Stoke Row has a fascinating history with its ornate well and cherry orchard given by an Indian maharaja and the surrounding beech woods are fabulous, specially at this time of year. Many thanks, Dan and to your lively family. Hope the maths homework went down well!
