Very pleasant staff a choice of eating spaces... indoor /garden/stretch tent all in a nice setting but £12 for two tea's and 2x rounds of toast made from std mass produced sliced bread (both the white and the brown ) COME ON

I came here with my husband for a birthday lunch treat. We ordered a cheese and tomato toastie, prawn sandwich, carrot cake, and a vegan chocolate and raspberry cake. I didn't enjoy the food as much as I would have liked. The sandwich was okay. The bread was fresh and you could tell it wasn't your standard supermarket loaf, but it lacked something. It would have worked better with sourdough. Both the toastie and sandwich came with vegetable crisps (which were delicious) and coleslaw, which we both didn't like because the cumin seeds added to it were so overpowering.I was most disappointed with the cake, or to be precise, my slice of cake. The carrot cake was 10 out of 10: sweet, moist, and with just the right amount of spices. The chocolate raspberry cake, on the other hand, was dry and one-dimensional in flavor. I'm not sure where the raspberry went. I'm guessing it may have been blended into the cake mix, because you couldn't taste it at all.I managed to take a picture of the store (before lunch) and wanted to pop in after lunch to get some fabric, but it was closed and there was no sign to say why. It's a very popular place and the car park is busy. The garden space is brilliant but there are lots of wasps flying around, which might bother some people but we were fine with that.I'd probably come again but would skip the sandwiches and opted in for a full English instead.Vegetarian options: Vegan cakes and vegetarian toasties available

Enjoyed visiting the cafe. Brownie and iced latte were both delicious. Friendly staff and a nice relaxing atmosphere. Reasonably priced.Parking: Limited parking at the front, more round the back. If the cafe was at full capacity then there might not be enough parking for everyone, but it wasn't a problem when I visited (sunny holiday weekday)Dietary restrictions: Gluten free cake available

We have used this cafe many times when out for walks or when in the area. The staff are lovely and welcoming. The food is always fresh and tasty and the setting both inside and out is great. I like their toasted sandwiches and homemade cakes. They have good coffee and a good selection of cold drinks. They have a large covered outside seating area as well as the garden and inside area. Today we sat in the covered area outside and I did notice that the table we sat at had been cleared but not wiped and was a bit grubby. I then noticed that the staff were quick to clear tables but didn’t routinely wipe them down. Otherwise I think it is a great place for lunch or a snack.

Fantastic cafe in a former pub. Lovely garden, plenty of seating. Excellent coffee and the most amazing home made cakes. Very good prices too.

Interesting and tasty croissant with mushrooms and cheese and a pretty good espresso served up by a friendly team. Apparently the toasties are next level, so will need to go back to try those

I like to stop here when I'm hiking in the area. The fig and Clementine cake I had today was divine!

Having seen The Maker Space @ The Crown on the TV we decided to travel an hour to visit this place and we were not disappointed. It is a beautiful welcoming place with lovely food and cafe services. It is very reasonable in price and the cakes are delicious!Unfortunately my main aim was to look at the craft area of the business. There was so much I wanted to buy but came away empty handed as there was no one available to serve me as the cafe/kitchen was busy, it’s without doubt a missed sale.I would have given it a 5* for all areas had I been able to get some help.Next time maybe.
