Staff were very friendly. Food was good. My only complaint was that I received a vegetable spring roll when I ordered a curry roll.

The lady on the counter was very friendly, and I appreciated the generosity as portions are really good sizes, definitely worth the money. She was training someone too so I could understand it must be difficult to give both the new staff member and customers full attention, but she still made sure she dealt with customers promptly, kindly and consistently. They make a fantastic tartar sauce in-house, which may I add was really very delicious! Also if you plan to go here, it's always nice to have cash as their card machine actually takes a small percentage of their earning which I think isn't very fair considering how good they were, they should always get the full profit, plus there is a cash machine just a few minutes walk up the road at sainsburys. Thanks again, Smarts! A very appetising meal.Wheelchair accessibility: All one level

Great chippy that has the habit of cooking to order, so a little wait, but then piping hot food served and good quality!

I always stop off here for good quality Fish and Chips when travelling down to Portsmouth from Yorkshire. Friendly service and good quality food. The prices might seem a bit high, especially if you come from northern England, however the size of the potions are huge - you could even share between two the small serving of chips. There is a table and two chairs outside the takeaway if you decide to eat al fresco! Seems to be very popular with the locals too.

Absolutely horrible. The batter on the fish was soggy, and not a lot of fish. The chips were dry and hard and no taste, they reminded me of microwave chips that had been warmed up. Price paid £19.20p.

All I could ever asked at a chippy. I had a large cod & chips, the fish was fresh, tasty, with a crisp batter, not too fat, I had a more than a decent portion of perfectly fried chips, gravy sauce was dense as I like it to be. Keep up the good work, cheers to the crew!
Just grest taste and
