1 Lower St, Islip, KidlingtonMy husband, 10 month old baby and I had lunch here today and couldn’t recommend it more. It’s probably (almost definitely) too nice for a baby but the staff made us feel so incredibly welcome and catered for us (they do have high chairs and portable change table). On top of the excellent and warm service the food was 5 star. What a wonderful place!

The food selection is a good variety, and they do add and remove items every now and then. It can be a little bit pricey, but I'd consider it decent value for the area. The only slight negative point would be that the food can sometimes take a little while but it's worth it.

Off The Hook (Kidlington)
9 Oxford Rd, Kidlingtonchange of plan meant a takeaway meal needed so a local contractor suggested off the hook as he'd had fish & chips the day before & his mate had pizza. both were excellent apparently, so we had the same. i have to agree as we were delighted with both the quick service & the food itself. premises were spotlessly clean too so can't fault the place!

The Kings Arms
4 The Moors, KidlingtonDespite having lived in Kidlington for many years we had never previously visited the pub, but as we had a day off we decided that a visit was long overdue. We went with our dog as we knew they are allowed in. We enjoyed a couple of pints of the guest ale and some delicious wine, which is supplied by the well renowned Oxford Wine Company. There are lots of improvements being undertaken by the new owners and we’ll definitely be back to see how these develop and to enjoy some more delicious beverages.

The Crown
High St, Charlton-on-Otmoor, KidlingtonThank you to Kerry for welcoming us to the Crown and allowing us to visit on a trip to Charlton on Otmoor to research family history. The pub is lovely and full of history - although we had to be on the road back home by the time it opened for customers, I will be back as I need to bring my friend's whose family used to keep the inn back in the 1800s and will stay for a drink and soak up the atmosphere. Kerry was lovely to talk too and shared some stories about the pub, which was kind of her as she was getting ready to open. Based on meeting Kerry, I know you will get a great welcome at the pub.

One chicken madras later and true to the old wives tale the baby arrived the following morning!! Now, I don't think Ovisher can take full credit but we are definitely attributing it for its helping hand in the process.

The Boat Inn
Canal Rd, Thrupp, KidlingtonPopped in for a quick lunch today, just a bar snack. I choose a panini with really tasty flavoursome cheddar and think cut ham. This was served with some of the best chips I’ve ever had. Golden brown, thick cut, crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I highly recommend.

The staff went above and beyond to ensure my order was the way I wanted it. I do not live in the area but am willing to return and try some other items on the menu. Best fish shop I’ve tried since coming to England from the southern states in America. Highly recommended!

There is no delivery but I can't recommend highly enough. There is also the pub opposite if there is a bit of a wait for your food. Call it through and collect. You won't be disappointed. 10/10

Canal Yard, Canal Road, Thrupp, KidlingtonWhat a splendid Mother's Day Tea we had. Very tasty sandwich,s ,& lovely Cakes, Sausage Roll and Scones, with a garnish of salad & Crisps. Tea & food served in lovely bone china. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff. Who provided us with a box to take home ,items of food we had no room for. Prosecco is available, I would rank this as good, if not better than a tea at a well known Castle. Will have to go back to Thrupp for another.

Centre, 25-28 Fairfax Rd, KidlingtonWe've been to the Mayflower now and then for 15 years and this evening was absolutely excellent. Delicious food, every dish different and tasty. (Not like some Chineses where its the same sauce with different bits in it.) The service was also excellent - our waitress was very nice, efficient and friendly, chatting to my Dad about Singapore.Thank you!
