We came to the Royal Sun on Mother’s Day for a lovely roast with our family. The staff were delightful and welcoming whilst being very attentive. The atmosphere was great and food was delicious. Will definitely be coming back again soon!

Love this place. The best Indian food you’ll find and staff are really great. New team and they are doing so much. Quiz nights are so much fun!

Decent pub on the main A44 between Oxford and Woodstock. Can get busy at times. Some good beers on tap, and food's a reasonable price.UPDATE (2024) Now under new ownership. Beer is still good, & the food is even better. Mainly Indian themed but with other bar "staples" as well.

Tried to book table for dinner but couldn’t find a copy of there menu online, so decided to ring them. Number listed on website came back as number unavailable. So I gave up would strongly suggest they update and improve their website if they want peoples business.

Honestly, the food was lovely, but the attitude of the manager was just appalling. He clearly doesn’t understand that shouting at his staff members and telling customers on how “lazy” they are when he is on his phone continuously taking phone calls and don’t doing much to contribute, will not get them to learn any better. He brought the atmosphere down, as I said, it was a good but overpriced meal, but the management needs a change.

What a lovely pub and a great find. Myself and a friend were enroute to a weekend event and stopped here for a quick drink. Then on the way back we stopped in the hope to grab dinner. However the kitchen had closed. But the landlord was amazing - he offered us some food regardless and prepped it before going on our merry way. Scampi and chips was order of the day and it was delicious. Will definitely return for more food. Setting was great and service exceptional.

Went for dinner and a beer to celebrate a birthday. The place is under new(ish) management and has an Indian/English menu. The scampi and chips, the Jalfrezi were reported to be excellent, and I can personally say that the Tikka Massala was really good. Food served in individual bowls brought on a larger individual plate. Left feeling absolutely stuffed. Beer was good as well. Will be returning.

it was either the manager or the owner, was being rude to staff, told one of the staff members off for serving me because i knew him, told me i wasn’t as important as other customers, got the others to serve the owners friends before they serve me when i’d been in there an hour already
