Any review less than 5 stars is simply incorrect.I have been visiting Edamame for the past 4 years and have never been disappointed.Sushi nights on Thursday are amazing, eel nigiri is my personal recommendation if it is on the specials!Plenty of options for vegetarians on all days and also great accommodation for allergies (one of the best I have seen). This is my favourite restaurant in Oxford and I cannot recommend it enough.Vegetarian options: Less options on sushi night but loads on lunch and other dinners!Dietary restrictions: Loads of accommodation for any restrictions or allergies ?

Incredible food. Their sushi is amazing but don’t discount their other amazing dishes like their ramen or fried noodles, equally as delicious!

It is recommended to go early to wait for a table. Pay special attention to the different menus for lunch and dinner. We recommend the pinball soda!

Edamamé is the best Japanese restaurant outside of Japan. I’ve been looking for an authentic Japanese spot since I lived in Tokyo, & this is by the far the best. The sushi is excellent & fresh, & all the other meals are so flavorful. Highly recommend. We come to eat here every week ??

Authentic style Japanese food. Coming from a japanese person, the food is good but overpriced for the simple dishes that are available. Rice is especially overpriced.Better to go for lunch when there is a set menu.

Good Japanese food and stocked with natto, which is rarely found in the west. I loved the busy atmosphere, though it is recommended to come early to avoid the

Great food. Really enjoyed sushi night, best in Oxford! Would come back again.

This is an insult to Japanese food. Watery tasteless food. We ordered £48 of food. Rice cold. The Edamame was straight out of a frozen bag. The veg dish was like a Birdseye bag of frozen mixed veg stir fry with a little five spice added and watered down soy sauce gravy. Octopus pieces in takoyaki was too hard & majorly DRY. Chicken Katsu was fine (difficult to get wrong). Plum wine was nice.

Too salty. Inedible. Overrated.

We were not impressed. Very busy, inadequate seating and food was disappointing too. Veggie dishes were more like Chinese food rather then anything I was served when traveling in Japan. We had high expectations due to reviews and friend's recommendations. The most authentic dish were pickeled veggies. Service was super rushed but the lady was friendly.

Lovely place, with amazing food and reasonable price. The only thing was the server didn't understand the word 'sashimi' after we said it four times. Weird for someone working in a Japanese restaurant.

Very authentic according to my partner who has been to Japan many times! I absolutely loved the food, and the service was fast!

Amazing food, authentic and cooked by professionals.I recommend the pork ramen. The service was quick and smooth, no problems and the atmosphere was great.Note: if you are a party of 3 or less you might be seated with another person (stranger) as is custom in Japan.
