I had an amazing gluten-free three course meal as a part of my package with Oxford River Cruises. Unfortunately, the cruise was cancelled, but the meal did not disappoint. The carrot soup and sea bass were delicious. These were also the best fries I had during my short England trip. Well seasoned and thick cut. The crème brûlée was pretty solid as well. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere right on the Thames was excellent.

My mom and I were visiting Oxford and craving for some Indian food to keep us warm in this weather and of course given our dietary restrictions kebabs are our best and safest bet when traveling. We came across Gurkha Palace and I was quite intrigued they served Nepali food as well and was super curious to try it. We asked the server if the restaurant would cater to cooking our curries in butter or ghee since we follow a Keto lifestyle and they were so accommodating which was a huge relief and we were so grateful for that. The menu had amazing selections and variety in Indian and Nepali dishes also labeled in their native tongue took me some time to go over it ( very well explained of course) and with the servers guidance in handy we ordered the lamb sandeko for appetizers, tandoori king prawn, butter chicken, karahi paneer for the main dish and wow the flavor of each dish was amazing the sauces were rich and delicious, the portions were great and the fact that they accommodated to our restrictions was a cherry on top. I would highly recommend visiting this hidden gem in Oxford if anyone is in the area it’s a must! We had an amazing dinner experience thank you!

Fantastic gluten free and vegan options!!I came here a few days ago and had a wonderful gluten free toastie with pesto, vegan cheese and tomatoes. The pesto was so tasty, and the texture of the homemade gluten free bread so good, that came back the very next day to buy another!! They can make any sandwich gluten free, which means there are plenty of options.Their cakes are INCREDIBLE. I can strongly recommend the gluten free pumpkin cake - one of the best gluten free cakes I've ever eaten out! And the carrot cake, which is also dairy free, was yummy too. They had so many options - different brownies, huge choc chip cookies, pumpkin loafs, matcha balls, vegan chocolate cake. The slices and slabs are also really good sizes - not like the disappointingly small slices you sometimes get in a cafe. You absolutely must come here if you are gluten free or vegan. No other cafe comes close!The staff are so so friendly. The man and woman that run the cafe are so cheerful and welcoming, even though they are working really hard and fast because there were lots of orders. I ordered my toastie as a takeaway, and it was ready in 10-15 minutes.Thank you Organic Deli Cafe for the wonderful food. I will absolutely be back when I'm next in Oxford to try the smoothie bowls, the porridge made with gf oats, and the homemade granola. I only wish I lived closer!Dietary restrictions: HOMEMADE gluten free sliced bread!! We were staying in a hotel near the train station outside of central Oxford and this gem exploring the area. We were looking for a spot for Easter supper and this place was perfect. I ordered the roasted lamb with vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. The lamb was flavorful and delicious. The peas, carrots and broccoli were fresh and had a good bite. I particularly liked the char on the potatoes and parsnips, adding some sweetness. The brown jus brought it all together. It was my first Yorkshire pudding and it went well with everything. As a side accompaniment, we had the entree size mac and cheese. I wish so much we had this in the U.S. instead of the common variety macaroni. Here the macaroni is beautifully enrobed in that gorgeous cheese and bechamel sauce. It’ll be hard to go backwards. I had a crisp and cold apple cider from the tap to go with the meal. To fellow travelers please come here for your next meal if you can to get some great local fare and a fun atmosphere. The folks were friendly!

We used to visit frequently but hadn't visited for about 18 months as we felt the food and service went a bit downhill.We decided to give it another go and visited today for a Sunday Roast.We both ordered the Trio of Meats - beef, turkey and pork. The turkey and pork were lovely but the beef was inedible. It was so tough we couldn't even cut it.We were offered an alternative meat instead and Dave generously adjusted our bill which we did not expect.He was very attentive and seemed to be interacting with all the guests. He clearly cares about what he does and does a good job.We felt very well looked after and hopefully will be back again soon.

There are several parking spots to be had in their own parking at the front of the pub, otherwise dinner 2 hrs spots up the road very near by.

This review is a decade overdue. I spent many nights here during grad school, and got to know the regulars and the crew. The sound system is probably the best in all of Oxfordshire. The food is comforting, and the company is genuine and creative (and frequently drunk). On one of my last nights here, Andy brought a special bottle of white rum "from the back room" to our table and to this day it remains the best liquor I've ever tasted. Go to Hi Lo, you will make memories to last a lifetime.

The White Hart

A traditional community pub with friendly staff and customers. I was staying at the Travelodge about a mile away and wanted to visit a traditional pub. The half hour walk from the edge of the main roads network around the city is not very pleasant at first, but I was pleased when I got to the White Hart, it was open and serving drinks. It was a fairly quiet Friday night as the first Friday in January. There was a mix of customers and age ranges. The pub has a pool table, a large rear outdoor area, and is in a pretty village setting. A good range of drinks. I like traditional British real ales and was pleased to see that they had not only trendy modern craft beer type hoppy pale ale but also traditional malty 'bitter' (and a darker beer on), so a choice for different tastes. It was good quite local ale - some can be pretty awful. As a member of CAMRA (the Campaign for Real Ale) I could have claimed a small discount on the pint but didn't as I was just pleased to be sitting in a friendly pub with good beer, and the price £4.50 is reasonable for Oxfordshire. Though I should have claimed the discount anyway as I like good beer - cheaper :-). I will definitely visit the White Hart again when I am down in Oxford.

I arranged a surprise 40th birthday celebration at JoJos for c35 people and the venue and the whole event was perfect! The venue is large enough for a largish group of people, but it still feels intimate and fun.I love the lighting and the décor and we were able to put some decorations too, to make it extra special for our event. Jonathan and Jo looked after us so well, whilst we planned this surprise event and also throughout the evening of the event.The drinks and cocktails were wonderful and the pizzas were delicious.We arranged to have a live pianist for ½ of the evening, followed by a DJ later on. Both worked perfectly for the venue.Overall, I am delighted that I chose JoJos for this special occasion and I will look forward to enjoying visiting JoJos again in the future and arranging more events there.Thanks JoJo!
