I had an amazing gluten-free three course meal as a part of my package with Oxford River Cruises. Unfortunately, the cruise was cancelled, but the meal did not disappoint. The carrot soup and sea bass were delicious. These were also the best fries I had during my short England trip. Well seasoned and thick cut. The crème brûlée was pretty solid as well. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere right on the Thames was excellent.

Full.of young family's when we arrived, so couldn't hearceach other at our table. Not much light, we needed a torch to view the menu.
Service was slow, but that was done to not enough waiting staff.
Roast beef and roast pork highly recommend for Sunday lunches, although could not see much difference between a 'small' plate and a normal size plate, (except £8).
Cauliflower cheese was made with mozzarella, so as it cooled, went into a vast lump of stodge. ?
3 choices for pudding,not great.
Fair wait between courses.
Will return tho.

The City Arms

The City Arms has always been a bit of a nostalgic spot for me since I used to spend so many Sunday nights here during uni, but it’s still just as good coming back now. It has a proper relaxed pub atmosphere that feels welcoming the second you walk in, and it’s the kind of place where you can easily lose a few hours catching up with friends. Drinks are reasonably priced, the staff are always friendly, and there’s just a really comfortable vibe to the whole place. Definitely one of those Oxford pubs that keeps its charm over the years.

We enjoyed their Sunday all you can eat buffet. Lovely food, lovely staff. We were made to feel very welcome and very relaxed.
As it was Mother's Day I got a little, very thoughtful gift when we left.
Though the selection was not big, everything was very tasty, not over salted or over spiced. The flavours came out beautifully, even in the hot spicy dishes.

We went here on our visit to Oxford and the atmosphere is very inviting. The decor and paintings were nice. They also give you around 2-3 freebies which is appreciated. The service was quite nice. We order the dahi puri, lollipop and achari tikka. I have to say the chicken lollipops were not good - it felt extremely fried (I know they are fried but should not taste blatantly so) and the quality or the cook of chicken was not perfect. The other food items were good for the price. Overall pleasant experience.

Just called in for dinner whilst walking past heading for another restaurant. So pleased we did! Anthony, our waiter was so friendly and helpful. He suggested we try the house lamb curry (no 19 on the menu) which was superb - tender meat and a sauce that was aromatic and not too spicy.\nThe naan breads and rice were very good too. The meal worked out at approx 25 pounds each with a drink which is a bargain these days.\nBusy early evening which is a good sign. I can recommend Yeti.

Was looking forward to trying Ethiopian cuisine and it did not disappoint! My only regret is only being able to come here once and for breakfast. I would love to try the dinner/lunch menu!

Had the Enqual Tibs and it’s essentially a really good egg scramble. I got it with the injera bread since I have a gluten allergy and that was safest. This place is so accommodating with that and the food was excellent! I also had the Buna coffee and it was similar to espresso and perfect to start the day with. Can’t wait to come back one day!

Absolutely fabulous meal. The pork skewers to start are enormous and so flavoursome. The lamb main just screamed spring and was one of the best jus I’ve had. Service a little slow in places and wine was not poured for you. The stemware really needs an upgrade given the quality or everything else. If you’re charging £100 for a Cote Rotie it needs to be better.

It is so hard to find any decent Moroccan restaurant outside of London. I think I have found it. Le Kesh in Oxford. The harira soup was refreshing and delicious. But the star of the show has to be chicken olive tagine. The chef seems to be very apt at layering the flavours, it is surprisingly smokey and tangy. The fish tagine was also really good. I will be back. Everything is fresh and homemade. Places like this should be supported.

The Alice

We had a great time at The Alice! We were unsure on where to have tea in Oxford, and someone recommended The Alice, and it did not disappoint. Everything was phenomenal, including our amazing server, Alpha. He was truly the best, kind, helpful, and always at our service. Our experience would not have been the same without Alpha. Alpha is certainly among the best of the best.

The food is good, borderline great. Aside from the taste, an effort is made to present it in an elegant, appealing way. The atmosphere is amazing — the walls speak of history, but the people filling the space tell the story of a vibrant, witty, and self-aware university town. Booking is strongly encouraged — I visited on a Saturday night, and without advance booking, I don't think I would have gotten a seat. Note that when the weather permits, the place offers a really appealing terrace seating area.

I've been to nearly every Chinese restaurant in Oxford and this is easily one of the best. My favourite dish is their pork belly and tofu. They also do really good hotpot: I would recommend having it in a group as the amount of food they give is a lot, but all of it is delicious.

It's so good even my girlfriend who has lived in China most her life says it's one of one of her favourites. And I can vouch having spent over a month there tasting the best foods I've ever had. Really can't go wrong with any of their dishes. In addition the serving lady is kind and attentive. 11/10 recommendation.

My partner and I have been coming here everytime we visit oxford as it just by the bus stop. Coffee is expertly made with care and taste fantastic. Staff are always very friendly, regardless of the queue or wait the quality is never sacrificed or faultiers. I really feel this is how all independent coffee shops should be.

The good selection was great, we had a sweet pastries. However, they had some savory pastries also.

This cafe. Damn. It's my new fave spot in Oxford. I've delighted in their homemade lamingtons (my favorite Australian treat) and chocolate crinkle cookies (my favorite American treat). The hot bagel sandwiches and sausage rolls are quite tasty, too. Right now I'm relishing their baked handmade spätzle. It's the best I've ever had. I've also enjoyed a delicious vegan lentil daal here. Their cooked food is such high quality that I feel like I'm in a full-on restaurant, but the prices are cafe prices.

The selection of cooked food is small, but they seem to rotate it frequently, and they always have veggie options. I really love how international their repertoire is.
