Was driving past and there happened to be a free parking space opposite and a free table. Ended up having an impromptu confit duck panang which was just as amazing as we remembered. We bought two slices of Spanish tortilla for our tea and some other treats as gifts for friends. One of our fave places in Oxford.

Haven on a plate. The best lunch in Oxford. My beef dish was fragrant made with high quality ingredients served with a smile. Sitting outside on Magdalen road with a plate of authentic Thai food- priceless!

Another flawless meal at Oli's Thai. These guys have warm, relaxed and genuine service spot on. Small things like water carafes that keep coming (no need to ask!) and empties removed super quick. The food is outstanding, fresh and delicious and we loved it. We had a booking in May 2020 - but due to COVID the place was closed (as with everywhere) and so it was lovely to get a booking in again.

While we really like the Confit Duck Panang we cant overlook how we feel about their policies. During lookdown we went various times there to pick up take away meals and we couldn't wait for the to open and finally book a table but because we are a parents we are punished and cant book a table. Basically not welcomed with a 9 month old baby. Their explanation copied from the website is: "Due to past experience and for the consideration of our other guests, please note that the restaurant is not suitable for children under 12 years of age." We wonder if this is because now they appear in the Michelin guide as a Bib Gourmand place? Well in have been in Michelin starred restaurants and they accept babies! If we go again into lockdown don't expect us to support you with any orders of take away meals.

Only a matter of time before Oli's Thai get their first star...Not only the best restaurant in Oxford, but the best Thai food I've tried. Simply delicious. The menu is concise, taking full advantage of seasonal produce. Oli's Thai has beautifully balanced dishes served in a relaxed, non-pretentious and cosy environment. A family run place with friendly staff, and owners passionate about delivering outstanding Thai cuisine. The menu has ample choice for vegans too. The take out menu means we can continue to enjoy this treasure during lock-down.Cannot recommend highly enough.

We managed to get a table for the much anticipated opening which happened to be on the weekend we were visiting Oxford for the first time. This place is small but it’s worth trying to get a table. They also have some bar seats for walk in which I would have no issue with if I was unable to get an advanced booking. It’s quaint, unpretentious and authentic. The drinks were nice, I had my first taste of sangsom and soda and already ordered a bottle for home. The food was delicious! A small menu well executed. The prawns and seared beef to start were incredible. The beef was a particular highlight for me; spicy but tasty. We had duck and southern grilled chicken for mains, again tasty and cooked beautifully, the duck flaked from the bone. We also had a special side dish of the broccoli which was nice and light against the richer flavours of the main dishes. We found the service friendly without being intrusive. One improvement would be that there is some pretty warning about the service charge. Whilst we would have probably tipped to this value anyway, we had no issue paying it (and I’m sure the staff would have removed this if we had asked) but it’s not actually noted anywhere online or on the menus that this is added. Overall great little place and fab food.
Disgusted to find that all staff, including the co-owner who was at the window collecting payment and handing out food, were not wearing masks. No distancing measures in place and customers who appeared to be friends of or very familiar with the owner were crowded into a small front courtyard, also not wearing masksFood was very average and takeaway containers were so poorly crammed into bags that they crushed each other and the food spilled everywhere. One item claiming to be a jungle curry was a disappointing, insipid soup-like item.If the owners can't even take basic precautions like wearing masks, I have little faith in their basic hygiene abilities as a food establishment. My biggest regret was paying for the food on collection rather than informing them that it wasn't worth risking my health

Fantastic Thai food. The best I've had outside of Asia - definitely a must have if you're in Oxford for any amount of time. Not too expensive either, with friendly staff and definitely value for money. Flavours of all the food that I've had are incredible. I really love this food!!!

Hands down the best Thai we’ve had in the UK. After 7 years of mediocre, disappointing Thai food here, this is a place that finally gets it. Complex flavours, fresh ingredients, and enough spice and punch to get the point across. Held up well despite being a takeaway during lockdown. Will be going back.

One of the few really bright spots in lockdown has been being able to eat Oli’s Thai more often. The food is delicious and the takeaway menu feels like a treat. The duck curry is my favourite dish. Delicious, authentic and fresh tasting Thai food.
