Great place. Lots of seating areas - on the balcony at the back, in the garden, at the front etc.. There seemed to be several menus to choose from so there's something for everyone. Moderately priced. Polite and attentive staff.
This was our 3rd visit to The Fishes pub, the starters were great as usual but we were very disappointed with the mains.the duck leg that I ordered was one of the most salty dishes I have ever had in a restaurant. Cabbage, puree potato, panceta, and duck leg are all extremely salty, I expected this to be balanced but unfortunately all I could taste was salt. I asked for a recommendation but i said this dish caught my eye, all our sever said was the duck is good so I chose it with much regret. I must say I do prefer a personal recommendation rather than being told depends what you're in the mood for. The double cheese burger had no cheese in it and the bun was dry but the burger patties were cooked well and the sauce was delicious.The duck leg meal needs to be internally reviewed.The starters are the best part of the meal, garlic paprika prawns and the halloumi fries are both great, shame about the mains.Great atmosphere and service.
