One of the best spots for food in

I have eaten here 20 times and the food has been exceptional without fail. Lasagnas, pies, salads, dhals, are all unusually tasty, wholesome and creative. Even though prices have risen I still come here as a treat.

If you are vegetarian and visiting Oxford, then this is certainly a good option worth exploring. I was getting tired of continental food and thought of trying it. It took me more than an hour to reach this place from my hotel. But I am glad I made the decision to visit here. I loved the food and homely ambiance. I ordered the Indian food with dal, rice, salad and a dosa. It tasted little different but still good.Vegetarian options: It has several options of vegetarian food from different cuisines.

An Oxford institution. The unique, tasty vege menu is nourishment for the soul. This place is a magic roundabout for East Oxford Green thinkers, movers and shakers.Vegetarian options: The best.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access. No ramp, no steps. Only a step to get to the back of the cafe. Someone will be sure to help for the brief moment needed for this single shallow step.

Lovely cafe for plant-based eating. Food is always great but lunch is never available before 12pm and often not until 12.15-12.30pm so not one to go to if you’re starving before then. Only other thing to note is the service is mediocre at best, but the food and atmosphere is lovely with community feel, which keeps me coming back.

They don't make em like this any more. One of the last hold outs from an era before the community was overrun by students and speculators. The few below complaining about service reveal a lot more about the entitled outsiders draining the public spaces and housing stock than they do the pre-existing cafe/community vibes.

My only query is, why are there any vegetarian meals? If one understands the environmental and animal abuse issues, why even serve cheese - the most cruel of all the animal products?

Shabby hipster place serving large portions but not cheap. Good for vegetarians.

Magic Cafe is a gem in East Oxford. The food has been consistently scrumptious in an entirely wholesome bite! The seasoning and flavours of their salads - wow, always hits the spot, and are energising too. They are a very easy going and chilled out establishment. Friendly and non assuming. The cafe plays host to a changing display of local visual arts. I’ve been going for 9 years, alone, with friends, with family … and each time it’s a pleasure.
