Tried this pub back last year and the service wasn't very good and customers at the bar swearing,we don't recommend this pub it's only a drinking pub.

Visited the village of Sydenham with friends on a quiet January day. After a walk we went in for a drink and were told that they didn't have room & weren't serving outside either. We took our trade elsewhere to a welcoming pub, the Inn at Emmington.

Charming and cosy village-owned pub. They're only doing food at the weekend currently, so we had a relaxing drink. Very friendly.

Very friendly and attentive staff. The roast was amazing! We tried the pork and two different pies. There was so much food and everything was brilliant. This was easily the best roast I've ever had in a pub.Vegetarian options: There were 2 vegetarian pies (1 was also vegan), as well as a chestnut roast option.

Great food and great service. Sunday roast. Lots of choice. Reasonably priced. Friendly and very tasty. Best to book. £23 main. Beef, lamb, chicken, duck. Vegetarian option plus roast pies. Ample veg. Roast potatoes, braised veggies, massive Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, cauliflower cheese, lashings of gravy, tasty meat, hot plates, loads of sauces. Definitely enjoyed!!

Popped in last minute on a Friday. Was happily accomdated. Food and service was amazing. We had a tough week and this was exactly what we needed. No hastle, helpful and friendly. The smallest things were all just right e.g. background music was background. RESERVED Scrabble tiles on our table ready for us. Wasn't chased to eat up. Glorious.

A visit to Adwell House brought us close by to Sydenham, and we decided to eat lunch at The Crown Inn. Both meals were nicely presented, of a decent portion size and were spot on to their descriptions. Between us we had the Hanging Chicken & Halloumi Kebab with a Greek salad and the Smoked Haddock Fishcakes, both served with fries.Small selection of real ales and crisp lagers on tap, perfect for a summer's day! Staff were friendly and attentive, with the right amount of presence. We shall return when next over your way!

Really great place for a snack, big meal or/and a drink! The staff was very friendly and attentive. All food that I've tried was delicious and the portions were generous. I was there twice over the weekend and both times <3 Highly recommend!Vegetarian options: I had an amazing creamy mushrooms and a huge skewer (eggplant, zucchini and halloumi) with big salad! Delicious!

Fabulous family meal. The pub is in a delightful village. We booked it because it was close to the M40. We had never been before but struck lucky. Pub was friendly, accommodating with good service. The ribs were special and everyone enjoyed their meal.

Met friends for dinner here just before the easter weekend. Purely chosen on location as being the mid point with friends. Wow, what a find!!! my friend contacted them via facebook to book a table and get a copy of the menu ( definitely need to book in advance as they don't open for food everynight and they have limited covers) and said they were very efficient at replying and sorting the booking. For a Wednesday night this cute little pub was really busy and there was a great atmosphere. The young girl behind the bar was polite and efficient. The food was fabulous, nothing over fancy but I had the hallomi and veg skewers with a greek salad and dipping sauces. The portion size was immense, the salad was packed with "tasty bits" and the skewers and sauce were divine, I was stuffed but it was so good I just couldn't stop. My husband had the ribs, another great size portion and the meat was falling off the bone. DIdn't get a chance to try the puddings but would definitely go back to get the full experience. The landlady popped out at one point and was very pleasant and the waiting staff were also really polite and efficient. Great work team!!!
