A nice looking hotel with large, comfortable rooms and helpful staff. Has a peaceful feel about it without feeling lifeless as some hotels feel.Rooms: Large standard rooms

Very disappointing. Booked a spa day through spa seekers - not relaxing at all. The spa day begins at 10am during the kids swim session, which was incredibly busy and full of children. The changing rooms were tired, water everywhere, no toilet paper and robes had no ropes to them. Pool was more on the cold side, small and smelt of drains. Sauna and steam room were ok. Treatments were ok too. Lunch included was a bit basic. Intended to stay for most of the day for a relaxing spa day with a friend and we left after 2 hours.

Can’t recommend this hotel enough, the staff couldn’t be more helpful , the food was well portioned and delicious, the rooms were comfortable and spacious with modern amenities and the pool was relaxing .We encountered Filip on check in who was informative , friendly and was more than happy to answer any and all questions we had. We were offered an information pack with the restaurant and bar opening times , he offered information on dinning arrangements and also suggested a nearby pub if we wished to venture out . He even offered a warm cookie on arrival which went down very well ?At the bar we were served by Ashley and Jarad who welcoming and happy engage in conversation and nothing seemed to much trouble. Drink selection was varied and I’m happy to see a premium cider on draught such as Aspalls which makes a change from strongbow .Once in our room there were unfortunately a few items which were missed when the room was serviced , but Ellie in the housekeeping team was more than happy to help and brought the items immediately. On arrival to the restaurant in the evening we were greeted by Julie on the host desk who was accommodating and made the dining experience very personable and enquired into out reason for staying , providing and genuine conversation and effort into making us feel as comfortable as possible .The food was delicious and well portioned and paired well with the wine recommended , we will certainly be returning :)

Overall disappointing. The restaurant manager tried to convince us that seafood is vegetarian and repeatedly kept coming back to our table commenting on how slow we were eating. Not to mention the food being bland and overpriced.

Located in a rural setting, so if you're staying for a while, you really need your own transport. Don't forget to register your vehicle on arrival. This hotel accepts CASH- fabulous. Only visited for Christmas lunch which was good value. I've no idea what the facilities/rooms are like, although I suspect they are first class.Nearby activities: The hotel is isolated. Still, it's not far from Oxford or Thame (a lovely market town).

Very nice room! we enjoyed our stay :)I feel like there should be a little more signage as it took us a long time to find our room! it was like a maze!

My heavily pregnant friend spoke with Nicola in advance regarding some of the other negative reviews and requested a quiet room, and Nicola assured her that she'd sort it out. However it turns out the hotel hosts events with loud music and drunk people running through hallways until early AM and our rooms were booked a few doors down from the event space. Not the most relaxing spa break, especially for my friend.Rooms: Clean but very shabby

Except there was no availability at the spa which kinda ruined my surprise for my girlfriends birthday , everything else was lovely!Car park way too narrow and we could barely open the doors to get out with cars parked boths sides. The room , the bed , the staff , the athmosphere , the breakfast , everything was lovely.Rooms: Very good size room equiped with everything you need!Free wifi , hair dryier , kettle with coffee and tea , smart tv , nice and lovely shower , king size bed , very comfortable .

Diabolical to say the least. We were visiting Oxford from London to meet with friends who were travelling from Manchester. We arrived on Friday evening and wanted to use the pool as I’m 7 months pregnant. The pool was freezing, there was even toddler swimming classes going on and we overheard the instructor tell the receptionist about how cold the pool was, I think the spa receptionist couldn’t care less. In addition the steam room wasn’t working/wasn’t switched on.On Saturday we were due to have our treatments for 4 people. When our friends were on the way travelling from Manchester, they get a phone call at 1.30pm informing them that one of the therapists had a family event to attend to and therefore one of the treatments needs to be cancelled. Given that this weekend break had been booked since August, it’s absolutely not good enough to receive a call 4 hours before the treatment to tell us that one person will have to miss it. I’d understand if this was due to a family emergency but it was not, the exact words used were ‘the therapist has a family event’.Our spa treatments were booked for 5.30, and at 5.10 we get a phone call informing us that they were expecting us at 5pm. This meant that on arrival at the spa the treatment was shortened down to 40 mins.We then headed to our dinner which was booked for 7.30pm. After being seated we ordered our drinks and asked for a jug of tap water. We waited about 15 mins and still no water arrived. We asked one of the waitresses or who I think was the restaurant manager, Jo, for the water. She became very defensive and agitated telling us ‘yes I know you’re waiting but we’re short staffed due to the events happening at the hotel’. My husband told her that’s fine, but as I’m 7 months pregnant all we’re asking for is the water to be brought to us.We ordered our food, starters arriving first. Anita, who was a really lovely waitress then brought our mains over, who seemed shocked as no-one had even been to clear our table. The food was mediocre, the fish and chips was rubbery and lacked taste. We then ordered our dessert, our friends ordered a sticky toffee pudding and we ordered the affogato ice cream which comes with a shot of espresso. The desserts arrived at 9.40, however there was no espresso shot with our ice cream. The waitress said she’d bringing it. 15 mins passed and there was still no espresso shot and the ice cream had melted. My husband went to inform the waitress and when Jo saw him she deliberately walked away. He spoke to another waitress who said she will be bringing it. After 5 mins the espresso shot still hadn’t arrived and I informed the waitress that we’ve been waiting 20 mins for our complete dessert to arrive and that a new scoop of ice cream will need to be given as the first one had melted. When it eventually arrived, it was clear that the melted ice cream had been poured out of the glass and they had attempted to wipe away any liquid from the glass. All in all dinner nearly took 3 hours due to the slow service. We then went back to the bar lounge where all of the tables were absolutely filthy and strewn with dirty plates and glasses. The table that we had been sitting at in the afternoon from 2 to 7pm still had our glasses and empty packets of crisps left of them.At breakfast on Sunday morning, there was no ketchup or brown sauce as they had run out.On departure we asked to speak to the duty manager, Ranvinder who listened to our experience and responded with ‘I’m sorry to hear of your experience but there’s nothing I can do for you’. Given that we’re staying at a Hilton Hotel, a globally well known brand, to be told there’s nothing a duty manager can do is not good enough. You pride yourself on being a spa hotel, but the amenities were below par. Majority of the staff couldn’t care less about providing good customer service or providing any service at all. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone. It was meant to be a relaxing weekend for us before the baby arrived and it was anything but relaxing.

First time to this Hilton and loved it. Ideal for our trine to Oxford, 20 minutes away. Lovely room with all you need, lovely sports club and great dinning room. A big thanks to Danielle and Fillip for sorting out our little problem.

This hotel is beautiful, it has everything you need and more. The food is really good, the staff are very friendly. The only downside is it's very hard to find your room due to lack of signage and the hotel being so big. A lot of people including myself were walking around aimlessly looking for

Really enjoyed the spa treatment and staff from of the hotel which was relaxing. However we had a horrible experience with the restaurant. Dirty glassware with lipstick stains, rude staff members who weren’t very accommodating and unfortunately left a sour note on our trip.

Amazing customer service and an excellent example of a customer centric focus business.Danielle on reception made me feel welcome after a night mare of a journey. Changed the mood for the evening. We had a conference there for two days and again the customer service Charlotte gave was way above the standard set by others hotel I have experienced. What impressed me so much was the friendliness and attention to detail. Will definitely be back - thank you for making the past few days enjoyable.

Shocking all around.Entire point of visit was a spa break for us (from the North west) and friends (London Based).Had also booked this directly with hotel in August and visit was October. We were told on day of arrival at 1:30 that out of the four massages one would be cancelled due to masseuse leaving at 5pm due to “family event”, hence doubt it was an emergency. At booking, had been told massages were at 17:30, only to be called by the spa at 17:10 to ask where we were as the spa closes at 6pm.By the time we were ready, the remaining 3 hour long massages had been cut down to 40mins.Dinner was included as part of the package and service was terrible.Took three hours for us to be served and eat.Bar was filthy and our previous drink glasses had not been removed (even after three hours!)Relayed our experiences to the duty manager on checkout and was told “nothing I can do”.As a bed and breakfast, it was OK, but would avoid spa packages at all costs!
