The Rising Sun has a lovely Atmosphere with delicious food that is reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. There is a secluded garden with extra seating at the back which is great during the summer.

So on a little pub crawl through Thame and this was next on the high street. They had 3 real ales on the list but the alcohol free options was ok.Scott was behind the bar and was well informed and really nice to talk to.They also have live music music every Sat or the month.Nice pub lots of sofas and nice places to sit and a small garden for extra seating. Not a bad pub and worth a drink and some Thai food when you fancy a night out.

Popped in on my own. Good beer, made to feel welcome. Table for one, no problem.Faultless service and excellent reasonably priced Thai food. Well done to the rising sun team. Thank you.

Oh dear! Our visit was a dissapointment- perhaps even a shambles. My partner and myself went, along with 8 other colleagues, on a Saturday evening. I had previously informed the pub (as requested)of our requirements (starters and main courses). The pub was very busy- good- It's great to see a pub heaving, but nobody seemed aware of our order. Not one of our party had a starter- 2 bowls of crackers (at £4.50 a pop) were dumped in front of us all to share, whether we had ordered them or not, even though I had informed them previously we wanted 2 particular starter dishes. We did at least receive our main dishes. Ours were fine. My partner would have died for a coffee, but nobody offered her one- if they did we missed it. A 10% service charge is imposed- and it's mandatory. We will not be returning for this reason alone. The service was pretty poor- I rated it 4/10. I admit it was very busy and the staff were rushed off their feet. Perhaps going on a Saturday evening was a mistake- the pub seemed to assume WE were doing them a favour by giving them our time and money. Paying was a shambles too. I wish the Rising Sun all the best, but I'll be giving it a very wide berth in the future.

Oh dear. The food was poor quality, the hygiene is obviously poor quality and the customer service was poor quality. This has been a favourite restaurant of ours for some time and we've had regular meals and takeaways. However, we wont be back. We usually have the lunch set menu but thought we'd order from the main menu today. Todays meal started with spicy chicken wings which tasted as if they had been cooked several days ago and reheated. The edges of the wings were hard under the sauce. It tasted like the leftover chicken kept in the fridge for a few days that you might eat at home - but not what you want to pay for in a restaurant. My husbands duck spring rolls looked freshly cooked and tasted nice. Our main meal was curry but instead of the usual melt in the mouth chicken, it was rubbery and chewy. At times it was difficult to swallow as it couldn't be chewed into small enough pieces. Then to top it all I ended up unwrapping a black hair from my teeth which came in the food (my husband is blond and I'm grey so it wasn't ours). A brief apology was given and an offer of more food, but we'd almost finished by this time so said no. When our plates were removed we were asked if everything was ok. I said 'no'. The waiter just took the plates and left with no comment. Then he got surly when we asked for the bill - on which there was no reduction or discount - and we paid and left. What had been a lunch we'd really been looking forward to was a huge disappointment.

The waiter was not at all welcoming. As part of my meal I ordered rice with a hint of garlic and raisins. I was very disappointed when it arrived with 1 or 2 raisins on the top. I queried this with the waitress who said that was normal. I asked for more and got some sprinkled over the top. We asked the waiter for the bill and this didn't materialise so we asked the waitress who brought it quickly and was friendly and cheerful.

6 of us went for a birthday meal on a week night. Food was amazing, it was fresh and perfectly seasoned, came very quickly too. We weren't rushed and the waiter was super friendly. Will definitely return ?

The crispy chilli beef is just plain weird. It's easy to get 5* reviews from locals who have never eaten proper Asian food. This place is just ok, but not even close to authentic. I guess for Thame it's passable.

Very nice restaurant and small pub area with well kept real ale. Heated outdoor terrace for a cigar

Very nice Thai food, with friendly staff . The only reason I have not given a five star is there was heat coming from under the bench I was sitting on and made my legs hot and the service charge was added to the bill and I prefer to choose how much I give depending on the level of service.Kid-friendliness: They were here happy to have children in the restaurant.Parking: Parking is 2-5 minutes walk away.
