We had a birthday celebration to attend among the local gentry, and didn't want to stay at the estate itself. We chose the White Hart Hotel based on other Tripadvisor reviews but had no idea the food was going to be so good! Our room was simple but had all the conveniences necessary - plenty of storage, a modernized bathroom, and just that picturesque feeling of being in a real English country inn from the 17th century. The food, however, was off the charts good - some Mediterranean gems like gnocchi, some Spanish influences - nothing like the dreaded fish and chips (although yes, this was also available, hahaha). Service was extremely friendly, competent, and management was always ready to assist. Price to quality ratio - five stars! Have no idea if we will return to Oxfordshire any time soon, but the food at this cozy inn is a serious draw!

Really impressed with our local pub’s new menu. Great, friendly service as always, but the new menu was a delicious treat! There are some hearty classics and lighter options on there, but also some less predictable choices which were a tasty delight. We both really enjoyed everything.

Ten out of ten! The selling point for me was the friendly, helpful and accommodating management. A spacious room with an extremely comfortable bed. The dinner menu in the hotel restaurant had some quite unusual dishes on it and the food was delicious. My starter looked and tasted like something out of Masterchef. The cooked breakfast was also excellent.

We had a 2 night stay here, after staying at sister hotel in Aynhoe.... So pleased that we did...the village is equally delightful in a different way. What a lovely part of the world and easy access to so many local attractions. The old Coaching in is lovely.. And is undergoing a refurb... Which didnt affect our stay at all... Staff all so very friendly and helpful and efficient. The food here was excellent... Great selection and just delcious....really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. Thank you x

We greatly enjoyed our 2 night stay at THE WHITE HART HOTEL at DORCHESTER ON THAMES - we had a comfortable room - Room 5, overlooking the carpark was very quiet. Very "old-world" with lots of beams - full of character! - the Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good. We will definitely stay there again. Very handy for visiting Blenheim Palace and The City of Oxford. Dorchester-on- Thames has a lovely Abbey and town Museum which is well worth a visit - 3 mins walk from the White Hart.

The room (11) in great need of updating Cracked floor tiles in bathroom, opaque window in bedroom literally opens 2cm, no valance on bed, very hard pillows, dirty cup on tea tray. Morning staff very young and inexperienced. No experience how to talk to people. Not great value I’m afraid. Really does need money spent on it.

A very nice hotel in a really handy location - and great if you're a fan of a certain ITV police drama! Our room was lovely and roomy, with a really comfortable bed and plenty of space. Staff were friendly, dinner in the restaurant was excellent and the breakfast was great too. We will definitely be back.

We had an overnight stay here last weekend. Chose the location after visiting Blenheim Palace and go into Basildon Park the following day.Staff are friendly and helpful. The service is very good.We very much enjoyed our meals.Breakfast was included in the offer we purchased via Travel Zoo.Evening meal was reasonably priced . Our room was slightly away from the main hotel. The room was clean.Bed very comfortable. Shower lovely and hot. The village is lovely to have a short walk around. Would be very happy to stay again.

Booked for a two night stay over the bank holiday through a deal with no knowledge or preconceptions about the hotel or the village. Both turned out to be superb. On arrival Jonathon was brilliant and very welcoming. Our room was beautiful, the food in the restaurant was top quality (the lamb is class) and the ambience in the bar was super friendly. Breakfast was first class and nothing was too much trouble. Location is amazing with great walks and other bars within 100m. Booked again to take the family in August. Keep doing what you’re doing.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel as our base for our visit to Oxford. The rooms were spacious and well looked after. The hotel was undergoing some refurbishment however that didn't detract from the rest. I would recommend the hotel and the food whole heartedly.

We had a perfectly nice stay here and the price was quite good value. Building is stunning and the people friendly. Our room was one of the suites at the top. Entered to find a big cable on the floor of the bedroom and a rather odd, sparse layout to the room. Bed was hard. Bathroom could have been lifted straight out of a secondary school in 1983. We had a great time in the pub when we came back from dinner, really lively with some karaoke going on. Roaring fire during the day was nice too. Given the history of the building this place has incredible potential. Could be an awesome pub with rooms, as it is it’s fine for a night’s stop but not a destination. Shame as it’s a gorgeous village.

Just came back from this hotel, rooms where nice and clean and lovely and warm food was excellent we eat there on our two night stay. Service was excellent and staff were very friendly would definitely go there again. The only downside of this hotel was that it had a small car park at the back I was lucky enough to get a parking space not many spaces for cars we were told we could park on the side of the road but the road was very busy both sides with parking it may not bother some people but I didn’t want to park my car on the side of a narrow road, apart from that very good hotel.
