We have been here after a while and found it to be a absolutely fantastic experience \nFood was top notch.\nWe ordered the braised beef, mushroom wellington, turkey ballotine and ham & eggs. We all enjoyed our meal . 10/10\nThe orange chocolate marquise desert was one of the best I have eaten. Thanks for the great service ! \nChef needs to be awarded a rosette ?

The Red Lion, Old Marston, Oxford

Called in on a glorious sunny day on the way to folkestone. Dinner time hadn't booked walked in and greeted by a pleasant barman Jesse ordered drinks and food and sat outside in the sun...
Food arrived promptly. We'd ordered the bacon brie and jam chutney ciabatta, with a bucket of chunky chips all to share...and let me say they were both fantastic.
We actually had too leave some of the chips as there were alot.
Would highly recommend and will be back..thanks red lion..

The Shepherds Hut

We went here for Mothers Day and the roast was amazing. Place is really lovely as well. We had our children with us and they loved it as well. Couldn't recommend it more and we'll definitely be back! The wine menu was also great ;-)

The Red Lion, Peppard Common

Outstanding Sunday roast. Melt-in-your-mouth lamb roast for 2 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Loved that there was loads of lamb but also heaps of yummy veg, and the gravy was divine. And then there was the "fried custard" for dessert -- oh my! And the staff - 10/10. Our two dogs were welcomed.

Red Lion Oxford

We had a table of 12 for bottomless brunch and our server Alex was amazing. She didn’t hesitate over our odd requests and we never went thirsty inbetween our cocktail orders
Food was dlish, really enjoyed our bottomless brunch. Alex really made it. Thank you red lion oxford cannot recommend enough

King William IV

The whole experience was wonderful. What a special pub.
The only criticism was the seriously over salted mackerel pâté. I’m sure this was a one off mistake though as everything else we (party of 8) tried was delicious.

Shellfish Cow Restaurant & Bar

Took my sister for dinner here after wanting to visit for a long time. This place best represents how much of a hidden gem Wallingford is becoming for food. We like to go for oysters as a tradition.

We ordered a dozen and a half oysters which were stunning, very well prepared, and well sized. Much bigger than the ones you can get in the shops. We then got the 10oz surf and turf with scallops to share, I recommend getting the french bread for the drippings.

If I had one comment to improve on I’d suggest serving the surf and turn in a different skillet, maybe one slightly smaller as it is a little large for the table. But I think they want it in the slillet for the steak and scallop drippings to collect so you can dip in. This could be achieved in a smaller skillet that doesn’t risk being knocked over during the meal.
Sticky toffee pudding we had was the best I’ve ever had and should be a feature on the menu permanently.

Solid wine selection.

This was the first meal out I’ve had in ages and it was an absolute belter. Service was also great and the waitress that took our table was great. I will be back very soon

Five Little Pigs

We ate well and enjoyed a really good cocktail. After a selection of bread, sharing 4 small plates between 2 were enough for us. The small plates were of a decent size and the flavours were delicious. The bread was really tasty too, crunchy crust, inside soft and you could really taste the mixture of flavours within.

Friendly atmosphere and sensible prices. The staff are so friendly and the landlords laugh is contagious. We have just eaten here and it didn't disappoint. I will definitely return.

Best Sunday roast I have had in a while. Visited as we have noticed this pub on way for a walk with a dog. Friendly service, we waited quite a while for food but it was worth it. Portion was perfect too. Everything was cooked to perfection. Absolutely delicious

The Three Horseshoes

Great friendly service, ambience is lovely with a mix of traditional and modern spaces for drinking Vs eating. Come here often and the food is always delicious and great value. Definitely recommend swinging by for a drink by the fire or a dinner with friends.

Costa Coffee

I came in to this store this afternoon Saturday 8th November at around 15.32. I was feeling a bit down, so I thought I would treat myself to a large hot chocolate with cream, marshmallows and syrup too. I was served by two extremely polite young ladies MADDIE AND SOPHIE. I was unsure what syrup to have, so they both helped me decide. When I tried the hot chocolate it tastes really nice and I was very pleased. It most certainly cheered me up. SOPHIE & MADDIE where extremely helpful during my visit today. My hot chocolate was absolutely amazing thank you so much 10/10 5* please keep up the good work and see you again soon. Thanks Matt P.S. Can't wait for you both to make me another great drink :D :D Very happy customer.

Pizza Express

We booked a children’s birthday party at Pizza Express in Wallingford. The staff were fantastic, great atmosphere and delicious pizzas. All of the children had a great time and Charlie was brilliant. Thank you so much!

Spice Garden

This is our local Indian. We have eaten here multiple times and each time I always check the reviews as to be honest they are very mixed.
This is not the best indian but the food is tasty and hot, we are struggling to find an amazing Indian in the local area.
I would say the samosas aren't great.

If they could work on their desk speed and communication that would be great. Sometimes you stand there and dont get an acknowledgement.
But we will be back again.

Bell Crowmarsh

Had a wonderful meal. The atmosphere was really lovely and we had a fantastic time. Our service from Hannah was absolutely fantastic, she was super helpful and made sure we had everything we needed, it was really nice to have a kind a smiley service during our time here.

A beautiful example of a pub beautiful outside space and dog friendly with car park.

Food menu was limited but very tasty and fairly priced.

Lots of ales and beers to chose from.

Would recommend to anyone looking for something away from the main roads.

The Old Post Office

I rarely go to The Old Post Office but when I do, I always get a decent experience and the bread along with the balsamic vinegar with olive oil is an absolute delight and the hot chocolate is pretty good too.

However, the last time I went for an evening meal there was with my wife and I had the fortunate privilege of having the Crayfish Risotto.

Delhi Brasserie

This is a great restaurant. Food is good, the staff are caring and they take pride in giving what you want and the way you want your food. Especially Imlak Hussen — a very good waiter.

Wallingford Tandoori

BEST RESTAURANT EVER! This is my absolute favourite place; the best food, the best staff - particularly maruf, I just love it! If you are ever in Wallingford, you have to go here!!!

The Wallingford Tearoom

A real hidden gem located at the end of labyrinth of corridors and staircases filled with antique items. ( there are two entrances, staircase outside leading from courtyard, or from inside the antique shop arcade). We ordered French toast, BLT toast and salmon-scrambled egg all cooked to perfection. I’d recommend ordering speciality teas with various fantastic flavours. The atmosphere and the calm inside the tearoom is exceptional, instantly transports to another world.

Red Lion

We get dragged to this wonderful pub by our little dog who loves it. We all love it, it's an old pub with reasonable amount of seating inside and far more outside, with heaters for when it's cold. It's very dog and human friendly and it always has a great selection of ales to try, normally at least 3 that come and go, along with a selection that are permanently on tap there.
They don't specifically do food other than crisps and snacks like nuts, but they have great food vans that turn up most weekends, bank holidays and Fridays. Just check their Facebook page or website to see what van should be there. Should it not arrive we have grabbed a MoMo starter from the Indian over the road or there's a Chinese and chip shop also within throwing distance.
They do have a quiz night, no embarrassment with scores, as only the winner is disclosed.
Small car park but there's free on street parking nearby.

The Catherine Wheel

We were boating Dorchester to Mapledurham and moored up in the village for reasons of fond memories (our family used to live here) . We always visited the Catherine Wheel ad I'm happy to say the food and service and ales are still as great as they always were. We sat in the garden and the pub and garden had plenty of space for social distancing and you could even buy handmade facemasks at the bar. Lovely to come back here.

Absolutely delicious food, wonderful service, there's always a good atmosphere and some bantering which is good, thanks everyone.

Vegetarian options: The nut cutlets are so tasty, also do a great vegetable and cheese tart. If we get stuck for choice we always go for the creamy garlic mushrooms as a main course.

Mollie's Cafe

I had a very fixed idea of what would come out of the kitchen when I ordered the veggie breakfast at this wonderfully kitschy retro café, so was quite gobsmacked when this nouvelle cuisine concoction, bordered with sweet chilli sauce, appeared in front of me (see photo). I wasted no time tucking in, as you can see, and all was delicious, including tea, which is made properly, with one bag per person and one for the pot. Top service too.

I hadn't ordered food from here in years after not being that impressed before but last week I really fancied some Chinese food so thought I'd give it another go and I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was nice but I especially enjoyed the vegetarian rice noodle dish!

Stopped by for a late lunch on our way to a weekend break. A very warm welcome, lovely surroundings with tasty, fresh, reasonably priced and promptly served food. Would definitely recommend.

The Pizza Cafe

For anyone wanting pizza in Wallingford, avoid Dominos Pizza and avoid Pizza Express. Instead, go to The Pizza Cafe instead because the pizzas and the staff are outstanding.

The Dolphin

I’m so so impressed with the Dolphin.

We come here for a Sunday lunch when we can and it’s extraordinary. Hats off to the amazing chef, she cooks an INCREDIBLE Sunday dinner! The type that would compare to your mums or families roast.

The meats are Devine and so soft and fall apart. I really love the way they are sliced. The meats are so so tasty and the other stuff is cooked to perfection and a high standard.

My favourite is the potato dauphinoise and there incredible stuffing.

They do a lovely lovely portion and it’s all wonderful and leave us full up and happy for the day.

Not only is the chef fab at cooking she is so so lovely. She’s so helpful and wants her customers to be happy and satisfied. It’s always great seeing her she’s so friendly and caring.

She also helps the elders with plating and caries their plates over for them, she’s lovely.

We love this place and love the chef and the staff team as a whole are always happy to help and friendly.

We did think it was important to give a special shout out to the chef as she’s a delight but every one is so kind and it adds to a nice atmosphere.

We visit for the Sunday roast and are locals and this is gem in our area.

Thanks to the team team. We appreciate all the hard work that goes into the lovely atmosphere and the lovely Sunday dinner.

The toilets are always spotless and the services is delivered with a smile. Super clean and a friendly place to spend a hour for Sunday dinner.

However at no fault of the restaurant and it’s staff-the costumers are very conservative and I’ve heard some out dated derogatory language used by some of the groups of men chatting with pints away from the carvery area and closer to the bar

Never seen a BAME or ethnic minority in this pub. Lots of funny looks and stares from customers at new comers from other sellers. You of course get some lovely people who treat you nicely but some customers are elderly, reserved and cold

Again this is not a reflection of the staff team in any way or the food.

The Wandering Kitchen at Wet n Wild

What a wonderful secluded yet popular cafe busy with cyclists, swimmers and Aqua park visitors. Beautiful views from tables, choices to eat outside or wander over towards the Aqua park where there’s an undercover seated area and a further take away cafe for hot food snacks and a range of hot and cold drinks. The food is of high quality especially their sausage rolls which I was lucky enough to purchase before they ran out!
What lovely staff! Charmaine served me a with a bit of a queue during a surge of hungry cyclists and swimmers remained cheerful, efficient and friendly. Others also worked speedily too while remaining polite and friendly. It’s added to a wonderful memorable day. I wish I’d discovered Wet n Wild and Wandering Kitchen sooner.

We absolutely love the Keep and it's vast array of cocktails, local beers and spirits, and absolute gem of Wallingford long may it continue to 'keep' up the great work!

The Six Bells

One of the few pubs in the area that has a nice fire going at all times ?

The food is brilliant. I love me a pie and mash, and I was not disappointed when I ordered it. ?

Great location not to mention the obvious Midsomer Murders filming location. Worth a visit Highly recommend ✨

Thai Corner

I have never had anything but a good Thai meal. Last night I had the pleasure of a Jungle Curry, which I have had at other venues and very good but the one here was absolutely top notch. I had the curry with ginger rice and prawns. The prawns were king prawns and there were plenty. I was with family who have eaten here quite often and if I visit Wallingford again a repeat of last night will be a must. Everything was excellent.

Great place to meet and eat. I'm taking my French mates down for somewhere I know is good. Been so many times, love it. Back again on route to Portsmouth.
Back on route to Poole. Family place where customers know there names.

A very friendly and welcoming pub. So much so that after failing to get a taxi back the landlady very kindly gave us a lift down the road. We had great conversations with the owners and regulars alike and I'd thoroughly recommend visiting.

Bean & Brew

Came in randomly in the morning. Friendly staff, relaxed tearoom vibes. Had a scone with cream and jam, my husband had beans on toast. Food came really quick, tasted good and the prices are really great.
A nice, relaxed cafe, good prices and nice vibes.

Subway

I have been a few times to this subway store now with my young son after school. We absolutely love this place. The service was great every single time. There’s always a queue because we can see there’s just a lady working there but it’s worth the wait. Can’t complain the waiting time, the staff is trying her best. My favourite is the tiger bread and it’s always freshly baked. Well done to the staff!!! And a big thank you to subway for the wonderful meals!!! Highly recommended this store.
