Another really lovely night here. So hospitable, can't do enough for you. Proper village pub. Great food, well chosen wine list too for those non beer drinkers! It's just a smashing place.

Went for Sunday Lunch today, the Sunday roast choice was Beef or Lamb, all 4 of us chose the lamb. When it arrived we thought they had served us beef as it looked so rare. I know lamb can be served rare, but this looked very bloody and rare right to the edge of the meat. The vegetable's that were brought to the table were very sparce (I actually thought that they were bringing more and this was per person) but when she asked if there was anything else we needed I realized that was for all of us. I asked for maybe more roast potatoes as there were so few veg (3 carrots between 4 people) and she said yes she would bring more. We started eating and all 4 of us agreed that it was excessively rare and so questioned it with the waitress, she said she would talk to the chef. She didn't return until we were all finished with our meals, all of us left the meat as we were unsure if it was even safe to eat. When the waitress came to collect the dishes she didn't say anything about the lamb, so I said we were all disappointed with the lamb and she said that the chef had told her "that's how its supposed to be!"People on other tables close to us had also ordered the lamb and we overhead several comments about it being so rare and someone questioned the waitress saying I ordered lamb not rare beef.We did eat desert, and it was very nice and they did say that the deserts were free as we were disappointed with the meat, so that was good. But when the bill came they had actually charged us £4.00 for the extra potatoes!! This wasn't mentioned when we were asked if we wanted more of anything. We had read through other reviews and it looked as if it would be good, but won't be returning!!!!

Went for a sunday roast and the atmosphere was so cosy. Everyone was so lovely, our server paige was wonderful. We had lamb and apple crumble to finish, both brilliantly done. The lamb was delicious and the crumble, while a bit sweet, had a perfect level of crunch to the crust.Would highly recommend for a family dinner or even just to enjoy a nice drink. They also have a garden to the back which is just as lovely to sit for some fresh air. We sat out there on a cold day and they brought out some snuggly blankets and put out some heat lamps to keep us warm. Truly a really lovely place to go.

Four of us went here for Sunday lunch and I honestly couldn’t fault it. The roast beef was the best we seen in a pub. The service was prompt, courteous and friendly. Lots of really nice little touches everywhere - in food and decor - which make it feel really classy establishment. Thanks!

We did think the menu was limited. Having said that, our main meals were delicious. The wait of over 20 minutes for 1 cheese platter was disappointing, but the staff were very apologetic and did not add it to the bill.Overall, we had a pleasant evening and would go back.Parking: A small carpark over the road with excess vehicles parking on the street.

Can't beat this place for excellent food and fantastic service. Sunday roast is amazing. A truly great find. Only 25 minutes from Oxford, but well worth a drive from further afield. Recent winner of Ox in a box award, and that's not surprising!Kid-friendliness: The staff are well versed in what kids need

A very friendly village pub, great options for ales which are kept and served very well. Sunday roast beef was very tasty, proper Yorkshire puddings (tha knows), crispy roast potatoes and good selection of veg. Worth some of your time
