Bar in

“My Son and I both drove an hour from different directions to meet up for his birthday yesterday. I picked the Windrush Inn because it was in the middle more or less and because of the reviews.Well, it was worth it. What a great place. Its a lovely bar/restaurant with a decent amount of parking and outside seating space. It was raining when I arrived so im not 100% sure but I think there's a garden around the back too.The staff were great, very friendly and the service was spot on. As was the food. It is a dog friendly pub with treats available to buy at the bar but I did notice a C.A.T in there do if your doggo is not a fan of the C. A.T then you might want to sit outside ?.In short, great place and we will be back.”

“Upon arrival whilst I checked us in, my husband ordered drinks at the bar, Bacardi & Coke for me and an Ale for himself. It wasn't Bacardi, but Havana white rum. Returned that and mentioned it shouldn't be sold as Bacardi. The evening meal was lovely but was missing items off the menu unfortunately. The room itself was very nice and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was big and clean. BUT there was a loud humming noise which sounded like a boiler running all night. Neither of us could sleep. After a nice breakfast we left to come home both extremely tired. So if you do decide to stay, avoid Room 5. The staff are friendly as is the pub with good atmosphere. We would go again but request a different room ?”

“My friend & I were on an Oxford to Bath walk. This was day two & we were tired and hungry. Was told by a gentleman working in his yard that this was the pub we should go to. Best advice ever! I’ve never had a ribeye as perfect as the one cooked by the owner. We enjoyed a glass of wine, played trivia, laughed & recovered from a long day of walking. Spent time talking with owner about all our travels. He was a very interesting gentleman. It was getting late so decided we should get a taxi for last 2 miles of our hike. No one wanted to come out so owner drove us into Witney! It made for a perfect second day of our 8 day hike.”

“Sunday roast is very good. Very polite and helpful restaurant staff. Bar service isn't great. Barmen didn't even acknowledge our presence and kept chatting to other member of staff.”

“Fantastic Sunday lunch at this beautiful pub. The chef accommodated our numerous food allergies wonderfully and the food was delicious! They even gave our dogs a bowl of roast beef, we will certainly be back again soon.”

“I had the loveliest stay at this Inn while traveling in Oxford. I arrived later than expected and the owners, a very warm-spirited couple, welcomed me into such an inviting atmosphere. I asked if they served meals, and even though it was late at night, they heated me up some fresh-made curry and chutney which was some of the best I've had. I stayed up even later in lively conversation with them over curry and a half pint. A+ hospitality :) really lovely people. My room was spacious, impeccably clean, and my bed was comfortable. I had a nice view from my window into the quaint neighborhood as well.It is just a short bus or Uber from Oxford, which was fine since I didn't have a car.Stay here - you won't regret it!!Food & drinks: Some of the best curry I've had! What a luxury to come home to a warm, home-cooked meal.”

“We stayed with friends in Witney, who took us to the Three Pigeons where we have an evening meal. Absolutely no complaints, very friendly management and staff, good selection of Ales, and a quite varied, and relatively for Oxfordshire reasonably priced meals. The meals were all excellent, hot and very tasty. I had the prawn cocktail for starters and it was amazing, almost a meal in itself, when I have been to other places, and have counted barely 6 prawns in the concoction. So all in all good value for money. A very enjoyable evening, in a lovely public house. We will certainly come again.”
