Don't bother, booked 3 weeks ago for Sunday roast table of 10, got there, no table ready, 80% of the menu not available and a few Sunday roasts left ....no one actually cared !! The poor lad waiting on us was left to deal with everything whilst the chef etc wandered about out the front ,!! Place is up for sale and to be honest it's the best thing for it . Another eating house in Witney took us and was amazingDon't waste your time or money on this place

Amazing Sunday roast! The staff catered to our needs. Perfectly cooked meat and the red cabbage is to die for! My favourite place for a roast. They also offer a puppy roast, which our Billy loves! Definitely recommend!

Disappointed, beef was too red, better to ask how customers would like their beef, Yorkshire puddings tasted too much of the flour

We went here for a Sunday Lunch with 10 of us. The food was really tasty and visually appealing. I opted for the small plate which was plentiful and topped off with a large perfectly cooked Yorkshire pudding. I particularly liked that vegetables weren't what you would normally get, the addition of red cabbage was a great touch. The pub is also very dog friendly and they even do a doggy roast. We travelled from Bicester, Oxford and Witney to meet up and I would definitely make the journey again based on the food we had.
My work visit to witney became a month long so I came to corn street to see the area visited chequers on my first day and instantly became my local, I can't commend this venue enough! The staff are friendly and go above and beyond the chef and his partner are particularly chatty and welcoming they put me at ease immediately. Their karaoke nights and discos on Saturday are an absolute blast and the general atmosphere is always great I've never seen any trouble or issues with customers which definitely adds to the experience. Will be coming back to witney for Chequers after I return home!

The chequers on corn street is nothing short of amazing. From the incredible atmosphere to the unbeatable food which is, and I don’t say this lightly, the best food in Witney. The team in here are second to none when it comes to hospitality skills. Liam (Chef) is a good laugh and a chef with a lot of experience. The price of the food is brilliant, and the quality better. I cannot recommend this place enough. Gordon (landlord) has turned the chequers into something brilliant, and this should be treasured by the people of this town. 5 stars all round. Amazing food. Amazing prices. Amazing people. Nothing more to say. Perfect.

A hidden gem in Witney! - The Chequers has everything you'd want for any occasion, myself and my partner initially booked in for a roast when visiting from out of town. The bar staff were welcoming and made time to interact with us. The food was flawless to say the least and not to mention the biggest yorkies i've ever seen. Needless to say we will be booking in again very soon!
Looking to open again soon.
Great pint at the newly refurbished Chequers!
