Gorgeous country pub close to both Oxford and the Cotswolds. Amazing food, spacious clean and comfy rooms.Rooms: Big rooms with a full bath, private and quiet.Food & drinks: Amazing food in the pub! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable - went with their suggestion and had an amazing venison and chorizo pie paired with a great pinot noir. Breakfast was also superb.

My recent visit to the Bird in Hand pub was nothing short of delightful! Celebrating my mum's birthday couldn't have been more perfect. The ambiance exuded warmth, with rustic charm and two crackling open fires adding to the cozy atmosphere. Starting with the mushroom Aaron Cheney for the starter was a burst of flavor, and the venison pie for the main course was simply divine. Each dish was not only mouthwatering but also incredibly fresh and flavorful. The portions were generous, leaving us fully satisfied. The service was attentive, adding to the overall wonderful experience. If you're looking for a place with great food, ambiance, and service, look no further than the Bird in Hand pub! Highly recommended for any occasion.

We booked in well in advance and you really need to,as this is a very busy restaurant. We were greeted by the whole front of house staff when we arrived, which was lovely, the specials board was shown to us and we were seated and given menus. All the food looks very impressive. We had the belly of pork stuffed with apricot and apple and roast beef. Separate vegetables were placed on the table and there were six different vegetables served. The beef was tender and plentiful the vegetables were cooked beautifully. The food was presented to a very good standard. We had the pavlova sharing dessert which was very delicious. All in all a very good meal to which I cannot recommend enough.

After our car broke down locally at 6pm on a Friday, the team here rescued us with a perfect dog-friendly family room and delicious meal. Nothing was too much trouble for them; they even took our cool bag of food and kept it in their fridge overnight. Thank you very much for all your help!

Exceptional food, maybe 10 per cent more money than a run of the mill pub but really worth it. Presentation brilliant, taste scrumptious and service with a smile.
Rooms are spacious, well equipped, clean and beautifully decorated. Staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Food was amazing, really good portion sizes and presentation. Bar had lovely atmosphere. Beautiful details everywhere you look (even the toilets in the bar). Will definitely return. Gorgeous!

Wow, it’s been such a busy time that I haven’t had a chance to write this, but we are looking to rebook soon so I just want to say what an amazing place this is. We (12 of us) stayed for two nights at the start of December to celebrate my mums 70th, and to say we were looked after well is an understatement. The staff are incredible, food wonderful, the pub and the locals very friendly and hospitable and the rooms perfect. May be my favourite place to stay in the entire uk, I stayed there twice last year and hope to improve on that this year. Absolutely fantastic, wish all the team, especially Tom who is an absolute legend, every success for the future. From Danny, Michael and the entire watmore clan ?
