We went to a party at the Blue boar with some lovely friends. We were asked to sit down at 7 30 and the starter was fine. The main course came at 8 30 and 12 of us out of 40 guests and bearing in mind it was all pre ordered was inedible and not one person ate it. The sweet was an hour later and was ok. The chief eventually came out to apologise but for the cost of the meal many of us thought it wasn't good enough. A free drink mite of been a nice touch but was not offered, and an offer of a another meal of the value of the main coarse. Very dissatisfied with the attitude considering it was 45 quid a head. Very overpriced food.

Food was okay, had to wait a long time and shoved in a corner, have been turned away previously due to being ‘bookings only’ even though several tables free. Once we came the service was awful, we had to ask to be seated 4 times , staff moody and didn’t want to serve and had to wait 25 mins for drinks once ordered but when asked they came straight away and told they had forgot they were at bar. Food was ok. Won’t return

Had a meal which the starter didn't seem cooked and had egg shell in mine. The main pork was a good size but tastless veg wasn't even cooked and I couldn't eat it. Mash was like powder mash. My husbands beef was so small for the price. Not once were we asked if everything was OK just do you want more drink....and then charged service charge. Shame as a lovely place to go to

Recently had our Christmas party here, the service was ok but the food was nothing special, the turkey was overcooked and you had to search your plate for gravy.

Fantastic Sunday lunch at this beautiful pub. The chef accommodated our numerous food allergies wonderfully and the food was delicious! They even gave our dogs a bowl of roast beef, we will certainly be back again soon.

We went for a meal here on a Friday night, was temped in by the pie menu, and it didn’t disappoint! Pies loaded to the brim, one of the best I’ve ever eaten! Pizza was brilliant, really good service, no complaints and wouldn’t hesitate booking again.

Sadly disappointed to hear they had sold out of roasts on our arrival at 4pm. They are obviously very popular. That said, Don’t be put off, the menu still had great choice and the quality of food was fantastic ! will definitely return.

Had a lovely dinner at the blue boar. Vegan sharing platter and the vegan pizza's were both great! Our waiter, Steve, was brilliant. Enthusiastic and really attentive, thanks!

We were served by a very nice young lady called Emma, who provided a wonderful experience for mine and my girlfriends date. If it’s possible I think she deserves a raise.

I have stayed here numerous times and always leave happy. This was the first time being placed in the rooms outside the main pub, which aren't quite as nice in my opinion. It was still very clean and had air conditioning. The food is amazing, so make sure you have breakfast!Staff are always friendly and helpful. The location is great, ideal to get around and be local to some great bars.

Well… I don’t leap straight onto Google Reviews without giving the venue a chance to respond to feedback - which I left in response to their request and followed up by email. They haven’t yet bothered to reply so here goes.My room 20 in the annexe was awful.- the drains in the bathroom smelt bad- moulding in bathroom was black- there were long black hairs on the shampoo bottle- the window in the room had mildew and mould on the frame and cill- the mattress had no protector- cleaning product left behindOh and when I went for breakfast at 8:15 on Saturday the chef hadn’t yet arrived. Breakfast (when it came was good!)

Had an amazing meal at at The Blue Boar with exceptional customer service from Ruby. Welcoming manager as well (Steve). Food tasted superb and the atmosphere is great. A right little gem of a restaurant in Witney. An underground New Yorky vibe (in the best possible way). We will be back! ?

Disappointed to find the room so dirty and every surface was covered with dust.As a asthmatic person, it is very bad. Then woken up in the night by the sound of bottles being empty in to the bin just outside the bedroom window. Not a happy bunny);Rooms: Disgustingly dirty
