I stay here every few months. The staff are always very friendly, whether that be at reception, the restaurant or maintenance staff. The rooms are done to a high standard. Breakfast is great (though I miss the marmite soldiers which have been withdrawn!). Evening meals have improved recently and there is even a vegan menu though you have to ask for it. Very happy to come back here again, next time I'm in the area on business.Rooms: Variety of different rooms, some quite large, others smaller. All recently refurbished it seems. This was one of the worst experiences we have had in restaurants. We go to restaurants about 3x a week and never had to wait 90 minutes for the food, had to reorder the drinks several times and they still haven’t arrived, for than a duck salad for £15 was literally 5 salad leaves and six slices of duck without any seasoning. Not sure if this is a standard in here but just not good enough. Extremely disappointing and never coming back as the service was just appalling and food mediocre. It was a Mother’s Day dinner. Shame.

Fabulous service but gave us the wrong room, and we were just too tired to query after a long drive.Breakfast is more expensive than advertised.Food is fabulous and lovely surroundings.Some very nice extras, too, such as welcome drinks.

Food & drinks: I had a fantastic lunch with my husband. Staff were all very friendly and service was exceptional. Food was divine. I ordered the Parpardelle and husband had the steak. Both were cooked to perfection. Tom Collins was the best I’ve ever tasted. It was a wonderful meal and I look forward to returning.
