We had eaten elsewhere before but were recommended this restaurant and to book too. It was very busy when we dined at 7pm on Saturday evening. It’s a cosy and stylish restaurant with superb service from the meet and greet through to all parts of the dining experience. The food menu had some interesting dishes that you rarely see. The lamb starter was excellent with perfectly cooked tender lamb. The chicken vindaloo on the bone was superb with a generous helping of chicken in a hot thick sauce. Splendid! At every stage the service was attentive and it made for a great experience. I can’t wait for the next visit to Oakham to once again visit this lovely restaurant and try some more dishes. It’s a must visit when in Oakham and you ought to book for weekend evenings to ensure you can get a table at the time you need. Well done to all of the service and kitchen teams.

6 Cedar St, Braunston, OakhamWe originally picked this pub because they had gluten and dairy free marked on the menu for the relevant items which makes ordering so much easier but once we were here we were delighted we had come.The food was really good quality and delicious and as mentioned, they had good options for dietary requirements and the staff were knowledgeable about what was in the food or adaptions that could be made.The pub was lovely, in a pretty little village and was very dog friendly which we always enjoy.The service was great, all the staff were polite and everything arrived in good time.One thing on Sunday roasts- the portions are pretty big! ( But with no less quality).We will definitely be back.Dietary restrictions: Good options for dietary requirements (dairy free / vegan and gluten free) and the staff were knowledgeable about the difference between an allergy and intolerance.

9 N St E, Uppingham, OakhamOf the 3 main Chinese takeaways in Uppingham I usually go to Wings. I really enjoy the king prawn chilli and salt, the plain noodles and also the chips are quite nice. I wouldn’t say it’s the best I have ever eaten, but it is a good option when you want quick tasty food. The staff there are really nice too.

Lots of space for prams but no high chairs, very child friendly with kids drinks on the menu. Lovely place to relax with a coffee and a book, amazing tasting coffee too which is probably the cheapest you can find in a cafe in oakham!
