Not our usual restaurant but thought we would give it a try....lovely modern open space with tables well spaced out of which the owner was justly proud of. Really tasty lamb cutlet starter followed by their take on a Goan fish curry which sadly was pretty dire, paper thin dry tilapia fillets in a sweet coconut sauce was not good hopefully they have better recipe's but not for me

A fantastic Restaurant for Oakham! We have had the pleasure of dining in with Nilesh and his team on a number of occasions, as well as having takeaway. The staff are always welcoming, and will aid you in anyway that they can.The food is always flavourful, plentiful and vibrant with some excellent customer service!The meat is Halal, and there is a wide variety!Long may it continue to be successful

Delicious meal in a lovely environment! We enjoyed a family meal on Saturday evening and the restaurant was beaufully light and airy and clean, and our order was taken swiftly and food arrived quickly. We had pani puri as an amuse bouche which is lovely for a change. Great location, lovely staff and great fresh food.

Recently moved from a fairly humble location to a prime High Street spot, the quality of the food at Jashir remains as high as ever. The menu contains the usual 'curry house' favourites but these are outnumbered by Chef/Proprietor Nilesh's dishes inspired by his early years in India. In short, great food served in very generous portions and served by friendly and helpful staff. Try the Channa Masala - superb!

Booked a table for our family which included twins of 2 years. We arrived a little late and there was no problem we was shown to our seats. Service was fantastic. The popadoms are so fresh and light and the dips were exquisite. The twins loved them!! The staff were amazing with the twins, very family orientated. really helpful and patient. The food was outstanding. The chef prepared a dish off the menu for us and it was divine. It was a king prawn tikka masala and was the tastiest we have ever tried. Will definitely be booking again soon :)

We booked a table for this evening nut weee running late which did not cause then a problem . Once we arrived we were taken to our table upstairs. The food was amazing. The service we couldnnot fault. We will be returning. Thank you Nilesh for a very enjoyable evening ?
Visiting the area from Bristol, this was the nicest curry we’ve had in a long time, it was so tasty and the green sauce on the popadom tray is the best we asked for more, a very personal touch I liked is that the chef came to our table at the end of our meal and asked us how our meals were, we were in the Oakham area a few days and got talking to some of the locals, they speak very highly of this family and the amazing food they are producing and the positive impact they had on the town during covid, you should be very proud, your restaurant is beautiful, thank you for fitting us in, we didn’t have a booking but the staff were so helpful

Wonderful place. A labour of love by the owner Nilesh - and it shows! The name of the restaurant comes from his two children - and together means ‘happiness’. We left very happy.
