After years and years of trying gluten free baking from around the globe I found the best produce right on my doorstep. The carrot cake is phenomenal and the bread is a just pure magic, it has the texture and taste of normal bread unlike the quintessential gluten free offerings on the market. Fantastic!!

Great Afternoon Tea delivered We have just had a delicious Afternoon Tea in the comfort of my parents home. On recommendation, we ordered five Afternoon Teas for the four Adults and two younger ladies 11 and 12 with six sausage rolls. The sandwiches were excellent, the cakes divine, the scones superb and sausage rolls still warm thus a wonderful Afternoon experience - thank you

Excellent afternoon tea that we had delivered for a family birthday. The individual Victoria sponges were delicious as were the brownies. The scones and sandwiches were also lovely. All in all, good value and a great delivery service ideal for the current times.

I’ve visited this tea room many times before and always been very pleased, the food is always fantastic and all the staff are very friendly and welcoming. This visit was slightly different as due to the current pandemic the tea room is open for takeaway only. My friends baby is due in around 4 weeks and the hope of a baby shower at the tea room was looking more and more unlikely as the weeks went by and so we decided to throw a surprise social distanced baby shower in her garden and I just knew Kavanagh’s afternoon tea would make the day extra special and it did, with each afternoon tea lovingly packaged in their own pink boxes! Up to now I hadn’t ordered takeaway food from anywhere but I knew Claire and Martin would have all the right processes in place and would be taking all the necessary precautions. I live 30 minutes from this tea room but the travel is well worth it and I’m even ordering Sunday dinner for this weekend. Well done Claire and Martin for continuing to provide your excellent service in these very strange and uncertain times, you definitely helped put a smile on all our faces despite the wind and rain we were tackling!

We have just had a take away afternoon tea from Kavanagh's for VE day. It was very disappointing. For two people there were four finger sandwiches with hardly any filling - ham or cucumber in a quarter of the sandwich. The scones looked nice but were dry and powdery with cheap jelly/jam. The victoria sponge lacked filling and the lemon drizzle cake was dry. The shortbread was buttery.
Really nice! Good food choice, great atmosphere and music, service could be improved but just think the girls are a bit inexperienced. Would definitely go again though

This is such a lovely tea room with fab, homemade food. My favourite dish is the botanist burger however all the food we’ve eaten here has been lovely. And, you can swap the tea for a glass of wine should the mood take you.

What a incrediable tea room. Staff always take care, to make my visit enjoyable. Clare the owner always so happy and could bring a smile to the most miserable old git. Handsome Martyn the reason most of the ladies visit always finds time to chat and make customers feel welcome even when rushed off his feet in the kitchen. Well behaved dogs are welcome and always offered a treat.

Proprietor Clare is a genuinely warm person who is clearly passionate about delivering an well above average service and experience. Beneath is a Harry Potter themed cave for magical parties!
