Nice evening but very Disappointed with the food. Starters were very over priced for what they were we laughed which isn’t good… Lasagne was many layers of pasta with so little sauce it made it heavy and dry . Salads were minimal effort and nothing special at all making them overpriced too. Pizza looked good and the atmosphere is great. Didn’t complain as the chap who is front of house is good and makes a welcome atmosphere but certainly wouldn’t bother again. Shame it could be so much better

We were visiting Oakham recently and chose this restaurant for no particular reason but are really glad that we did. The food was great and the service exceptional - beyond friendly, definitely going the extra mile which made the whole evening one to highly recommend. If we're ever back in Oakham, we will most definitely be returning.

We booked to have dinner on Friday evening & were glad we had done that as the owner had to turn away people who hadn't booked as the place isn't huge. We had salad caprese & mussels as starters, penne arrabbiata & gnocchi main courses and finished with ice cream with frangelico. Great meal, entertaining owner, good service.

Delicious authentic Italian food, extremely fresh delicious sauces and great pasta. Reasonable (for oakham!) prices. The owner Rafaele has a playful and extremely sarcastic sense of humour, which we absolutely loved, but may not be to everyone's taste, and explains a lot of the negative reviews this restaurant has. It will be very marmite so BE WARNED! They also have a very small kitchen and make everything fresh so have a limited serving capacity. I would recommend you book as they will turn you away at the door even if there are spare tables. We had a lovely time and they even opened a little earlier to accommodate us on a busy night. I can still taste the utterly delicious seafood sauce which was divine!

Terrible service.Dined in yesterday night and were shocked at the service we received. They told us we weren’t allowed our appetiser (garlic bread) with our mains as sharing sides (we have never been told no to this before elsewhere). The man serving us then told one of us to get off our phone when just talking between us. We thought he was joking but he didn’t say anything after and walked away making us feel very uncomfortable.He came over and removed our mains when one of us hadn’t finished our food and told someone else to eat it for them. He then told us that we wanted us to leave even though we had not finished our meal and had time left on our reservation.Very disappointed with the service and will not be returning.

Well located town centre restaurant with reasonable food. However, our party of 4 experienced exceptionally rude waiter/owner who did not seem to care about our specific queries and requirements. Most of our simple requests were met with sarcastic comments. The waiter then had temerity to slap on a service charge which was not paid. Will not go there again.
Once again excellent service, food is always exceptional the chef is something special, Lello the owner is very welcoming and always a laugh thrives on his customer, josh his waiter is brilliant. We love our little Italian restaurant. Please give it a go you will not be dissapointed.
