Gone past it a few times now for a coffee at different times and always seems closed despite showing as open on Google. Not sure if it has closed for good or notDefinitely not open till 6pm

This company had a stall selling coffee and pastries at Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival. They took the payment and then I realised there was a 20 minute wait for two coffees and a pastry which cost over £12 and the coffee was horrible. Muddy, weak and tasteless. I asked them to redo it, which one of the guys did, however, it was still weak and tasteless even with half the water. I was told to wait to complain to the manager but when he eventually came he was rude and refused to give me a refund. Other people in the queue were also unhappy and someone else brought their drink back as well. I said I would post a review and he said he didn’t care as he had sold thousands of coffees. Terrible service and coffee and the manager is arrogant. Avoid this company if you can

Just a lovely place to go for a relaxing coffee, must nicer than the "national" coffee houses, with great service at very fair prices.

Awful customer service do not visit! Would score it zero if it was an option! Ordered 2 panini’s, a Cappuccino and coffee. Ran out of chorizo so served us plain store bought chicken and cheese. They were awful, asked for mayonnaise and got given an empty bottle. The cappuccino tasted like they had run out of coffee beans. Explained this to the lady who served us and she said she would speak to the manager. The manager - the most ignorant excuse of a human I have met!He completely ignored it like nothing had been mentioned so we explained it to him again. Advised my husband has MS and the medication he is on needs to be taken with food so had no choice but to have a few bites but the food was inedible. He refused and continued with his ignorance. Didn’t want to give us any money back to which I explained to him why his level of customer service was so bad and how he could improve - hopefully he takes this on board. His refusal for a refund leads me to believe this happens frequently and he clearly needs the money! Got £6.10 out of a £20 meal and he refused to refund the cappuccino. I don’t normally write reviews but felt people should be warned about this disgusting human and his establishment, For full disclosure my husband had to eat some of his panini because of the medication and had left a quarter, I had one bite out of mine. All this took place with the manager whilst our baby also needed attending to.

Visited today after stopping overnight in a nearby hotel. Was drawn in as the decor looked nice and inviting. Ordered a sandwich, a panini and hot drinks. Chose a sandwich specifically as it stated thick cut bread and I fancied something rustic and filling. Sadly I didn't take a photograph but the sandwich was literally two medium slices of bread with sweet chilli sauce and a layer of chicken slices served alongside a pinch of lollo rosso bagged salad that was literally brown and rotting in places. My friend had a cheese and ham panini and when she opened it up the ham was value processed ham pieces. Again served with the same rotting salad. I didn't bother feeding back as the two young girls were minimally communicative and didn't seem interested in providing anything other than bare minimum in every element of their service, when we left despite being 1 metre away, one of the girls didn't even say goodbye. Neither seemed to enjoy or realise what is needed to work in a customer facing hospitality role. We went on to The Larder just after for a good coffee and a slice of home made cake which was literally perfect in every way, as was The Angler the night before. The owners have obviously spent some time and money in modernising the interior, the staff and products could benefit from some TLC and training.

Very relaxed, cozy, and comfortable environment. Lovely selection of hot, cold drinks, milkshakes, sandwiches and various sweet treats. Lots of space for prams but no high chairs, very child friendly with kids drinks on the menu. Lovely place to relax with a coffee and a book, amazing tasting coffee too which is probably the cheapest you can find in a cafe in oakham!

Always great coffee and excellent sandwiches/toasties that are freshly handmade to order by a friendly barista. What more can you ask for?

Very disappointing visit - staff unfriendly, no food available for some reason, coffee average. Also recently found out they have a zero star hygiene rating..There are other much better coffee shops in Oakham!

Lovely staff, great décor and the best (and I mean 'the best'), hot chocolate to be had, make sure you order one next time you go in - you seriously won't regret it...

Second time I have tried the Daily Grind, unfortunately as disappointing as the first. Good coffee, awful and overpriced sandwiches. Thick farmhouse bread would be lovely if it were paired with a similar amount of filling, some salad crunch or even mayo. I had the chicken and bacon, nice fresh ingredients but could only really taste the bread. No atmosphere either which was odd as it's a very nice cosy space. Won't be trying a third time.

I don’t get it? Confusion over whether they had food or not? No drinks menu, for a specialist coffee shop? Place was empty and I see why…..strange experience, so we went elsewhere. Everywhere else in Oakham was well busy…I wonder why.

I’ve walked past most days and seen their claim to have best coffee in Oakham, having tried it now I have to agree. A cozy place, friendly server, dog friendly and a lovely Millionaire Slice. If ever you are down Church Street give them a try. Much better than Costa or Cafe Nero and you a helping a local private business

Unfriendly welcome... Well no welcome at all!Looked at the board for something to eat for about 10 mins which then was told abruptly no food is being served. No apology or explanation. Won't be returning.

Good for a coffee, but offers very little else, so if slightly peckish then you really need to look elsewhere. Staff turnover seems to be very frequent, so do not expect any consistency of service.

Yes we’ve decided that after trying a number of places in Oakham, this is the place to get good coffee … But for me to give it a score of 5 the speed of service.needs to improve. In fact we are back there tomorrow so yes do try it!
