We haven’t been here for a while but the Lord Nelson is still a decent pub. It’s a comfortable pub to sit in; the service was good and our beers went down a treat. Add a bit of rugby on the telly and it was spot on.

Food freshly cooked and delicious. Staff and service excellent. Will definitely go back there again. Earlier on this year they hadn’t got it together. It seems as if it’s coming together now. Keep these standards. Then the rest will follow.?

We came as a family of five for a celebratory meal. We sat around for a while with our menus to find out we had to go to the bar (we assumed anyway!) then starters took so long to arrive. Plates taken away quickly and they were good at clearing glasses from table. We then were waiting for much longer for our mains. The two steaks were cold and had to be reheated… meant they were then tough however the staff were friendly about it. All the food came BUT one pizza which they said would be a bit longer. The pizzas tasted artificial and not nice & gammon egg was overcooked. Really unfortunate as came here 4 years ago and food was lovely.

Lovely meal and fabulous margarita!! Haven't been hear since before the pandemic when we were a regular customer. Will definitely be back and recommend. Bar staff excellent.

I really love this pub and 100% would recommend. Staff were extremely friendly and ale selection was amazing ! We tried there new ales and even though I am not a fan of dark ales, it’s was smooth and had chocolate : coffee notes. I will define my make sure I come again next time I am in okay.

Nice pub in the square. Quirky with a series of rooms as opposed to a usual pub. Olde worldy decor. Pub with age and character. Decent selection of ales. Good menu not bad also does meals 2 for £14 Monday to Wednesday. Not advertised very well at all. Food was a bit cold but good portions.

We went tonight as we are having a new kitchen so have no where to cook , the food was absolutely fabulous thankyou to the chef ,the staff were so friendly and helpful ,and we will definitely be back very soon the menu was great such a change to many places

My husband , daughter and I came this evening , the staff were really friendly, loved the fact there was a pool table upstairs for us to use. We had a lovely meal , cooked using fresh ingredients, not too pricey either . Definitely worth a visit.

Went in on a Thursday night and it was dead! This pub used to be busy so not sure what has happened to it. Didn’t think staff were very friendly either. Pizza was good but scampi wasn’t. Shame but won’t be revisiting for a while

We recently visited the lord Nelson and I can say it was a very enjoyable place. The staff were especially welcoming and accommodating. We had a lovely bartender by the name Kim who served our drinks with excellent knowledge on what was on offer, very smiley and all around good vibes. Would definitely go there again!

So we came in to see a very smiley and polite person standing behind the bar called T we asked her about the gins she had and she could tell me the various gins without looking at them, and could tell me what we could pair them with. It took us a while to choose she wasn’t rushing us she aloud us to take our time which was wonderful.eventually we had made a choice and she made them exactly how we wanted them each gin we had chosen were fantastic T knows exactly how to reach excellence To each person that comes though them doors.

We visited here a while ago and half the stuff wasn’t available from the menu so thought we would try it again. When we arrived once again things missing off the menu. The place is also a bit grubby, could do with a good clean and freshen up. Once we had established what was available we ordered and sat down. The food came out, well one of the 3 dishes which was a Mexican sharing bowl. The salsa was just chopped up tomato, the guacamole was just 3 small slices of an avocado, clearly they hadn’t got any salsa or guacamole and tried to blag it. The other food didn’t arrive and had been forgotten. We left and certainly won’t be returning.
