Enjoyed a delicious lunch here on our first visit toThe Wheatsheaf. Staff were attentive and friendly. Beer was kept well with reasonable range. We ate off the lunch menu with a choice of 2 options on each course. Very well cooked and presented. Also decaff coffee that tasted like coffee. Great lunch and recommend.

Staying in the area and searched for a pub with nice food and reviews pointed us in this direction. We are not disappointed, friendly staff clean and welcoming pub and not forgetting the lovely well presented food. Fab Sunday lunch and a fair price, tick tick tick made my wife happy and a happy wife is a happy life for me. Thanks Team Wheatsheaf ????

A local treasure. We visit regularly after one of the lovely walks around. The staff are all very welcoming and friendly, especially the owner. The food is absolutely amazing and offer many options which you don't find every day, like garlic snails and white wine mussels. The best cheeseboard by far, which changes cheese options regularly, from local sources.

Warm welcome, fantastic service, delicious food and good value! We booked a table for 7 for a Saturday lunch in mid December. This was a family gathering/get together for a birthday celebration and included those from ages 3-70. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table - a birthday card from the wheatshef team was a nice touch. Drinks were ordered and menus reviewed - great choices and everyone was able to find something they liked. They had a lovely fresh homemade children’s menu also. Starters ordered included Oysters (beautifully fresh) Baked Camembert Smoked salmon with sweetcorn pancakes Potted crayfish Steamed mussels All were absolutely delicious The bread was fantastic and served with seaweed butter. Mains included roast duck breast with a berry sauce, tiger prawns, roast pork belly, bavette steak. Food was lovely, generous portions and the pork crackling was out of this world. The only slight improvement was the bavette steak here was cut somewhat thickly so had a touch more chew than in past experience . A well curate wine list was offered and it’s great to see carafe as well as full bottles on offer - we enjoyed a delicious Plantagenet Lancaster shiraz carafe for £25.60 Dessert menu looked great but we were all too full, though complementary rocky road was brought out on a happy birthday plate - a lovely and welcome touch The staff were wonderful with our two youngest guests - very kind and patient. Overall we had a great meal in relaxed surroundings, the birthday guest of honour was made to feel special and I felt the menu offered delicious food and great value - I would 100% recommend

We had our marriage anniversary at The Wheatsheaf and it was so nice. Good food and drinks with reasonable prices. My wife really enjoyed the beef with roasted potatoes and Yorkshire Pudding. From starter to Main to Dessert was on point. The Vanilla Ice cream with chocolate sauce was superb. Staffs and owner were very friendly and welcoming. Their level of professionalism is up to par! We were welcomed with a complimentary drink. Thank You The Wheatsheaf

New Years Eve roast was superb. Melt in the mouth beef served with the BIGGEST Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings, followed by delicious ginger sponge pudding. Happy New Year to all the wonderful staff, both those we see and those behind the scenes that we don’t x

Delicious food, great wine list, and super friendly staff, relaxed but knowledgeable. Cosy environment. (Part of a pub but one half is pub and one half restaurant.)

Firstly, terrific food, we'll definitely be returning. The free homemade olive bread with butter and oil was a great touch and absolutely delicious - so much so I didn't get a picture before we ate it.The Pork Belly was spectacular, the best pork I've ever tasted and I'd wholly recommend it. A full piece of crackling along the edge was great and made for a special treat. My beef was also excellent, not as flavoursome as the pork was but tender and still delicious. The roast potatoes were great too, hard crunchy outsides but a perfect fluffy softness inside, just how you want them, and the accompanying gravy was a decent thickness and full of flavour itself. The Yorkshire was huge and crunchy, maybe a little too well done on the outside edge which made it a tad dry but the body was great.Desserts were also very good, the creme brulee had a great top on it and the flavours worked very well together. The ginger sponge wasn't too heavy and the subtle sweet ginger was a nice end to the meal.Definitely recommended!

just had a spot of lunch today at the wheatsheaf. can't really say to much other than stunning. it's hard to find a kitchen that can put quality ingredients and flavours all together so well. smoked sprats green leaf vibrant and fresh lightly cover with garlic butter. device. no lemon needed here as slight piquantcey from bitter leaf work to counter the fatty fish. nxt home cooked belly pork buttery mash green beans and grain mustard cream sauce. taste of 20yrs ago wen pork was pork. nowords really no words, sublime keep up this amazing quality, and simple polite and understated service. Great team effort well done.!!!
