We dropped in here whilst staying in Anstruther, whilst out for a wander. Very friendly staff and locals. Having found this place, we will make a point of returning in Jan when we are up home

My first visit and I will go back but one annoying thing for me was the smell of cigarette smoke. I think the smoking area must have been very close to the bar and perhaps a door was left open.. but in all honesty I might have stayed for one more if this wasn't the case..

I'm 75 years old lot of stairs .parking at rear of inn after you exit rear of building you have 17 STEEP steps to climb to get to your car some with no hand rails not good for old guy. ROOM ?? I was showen a single room on arrival by Peter the barman slash reception guy . I paid for a KING room he called owner who was in spain and they moved me to a slightly bigger room with double bed not good value at over £125 A NIGHT Duncan doubles as breakfast cook and bar tender in the lounge 15 steps below to street I came in on Saturday and a few of the locals were watching soccer on tv and getting louder and.cussing up a storm NOT A PLEASANT ATMOSPHERE. DUNCAN'S cooking the breakfast was excellent great food, only do breakfast. Little Chinese about 50 yards tried it, won't go back. The harbor village of Anstruther is 3/4 of a mile I'm slow so good 20 min walk . Parking is a bear , all pay to park around harbor, OH if you need to pee it's 30pence crazy crazy crazy in this day??? Local chemist told me trouble with druggies the burnt the toilets down so hence the charge. Had I known what cellardyke looked like I would never have booked it , I'm here for a week 3 days to go till I leave. OH had to ask the cleaner guy who only does move outs to vacuum the little bit of carpet had some grass from st Andrew's walker cup tournament that had lay there for 2 days the room is totally dysfunctional coffee pot is hidden in clothes closet no place to sit it if you tried to make some coffee couple low level wire decoration tables so they can say oh we have tables in room. I don't know who rates this BOOKING .COM or the inn itself? ? ? Lot of deception went grading and reviewing??? So be careful stay away from Cellardyke Anstruther next door is worth a couple days visit ,but paying for public toilets, threats of £70 fines if you don't pay to park. I'll never be back I'm to old (live in Indianapolis in summer and Madeira Beach for 6 months in winter) you guys stay safe.Rooms: Don't do room service , no iron or board. King room must have been made for a real small king.Nearby activities: St Andrew's only 12 miles away, ⛽️ petrol at about $7 a gallon , be glad to get back to indy.Walkability: VERY VERY HARD TO GET ABOUT.Food & drinks: Small lounge under rooms. Down 15 steps to street was a small modern look place. Don't serve lunch or dinner , but you do get a great breakfast to start your day.

Cant comment on the rooms as we stayed in our touring caravan at nearby site. We visited the Coastal for drinks 2 nights in a row... both us and our 3 dogs were made to feel welcome from the moment we walked in... staff friendly and regulars also took time to talk to us and even asked if we fancied a game of pool....owners were in on 2nd night and also couldn't be more welcoming. Will defo be back when we are next in the area... have also told our friends to check it out when touring the area too.

Excellent BnB in a lovely quiet location 5-10 mins walk to Anstruther harbour front. Lovely comfy beds, large powerful shower and a lovely cooked breakfast served in the pub itself. Great hosts, friendly staff and locals in the bar. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

Just spent a night here. Very friendly barman. The room was clean, although would have preferred white bedding and towels as opposed to grey )minor moan). Breakfast this morning was superb. Lovely fresh fruit and food cooked to perfectionWalkability: Within easy walking distance into Anstruther.Food & drinks: Lovely cooked breakfast. Only breakfast cooked there so had to go elsewhere for dinner - plenty of great choices.

We have just spent two nights at the Coastal Inn and had a fabulous time. The breakfast was great and Duncan the chef went out of his way to get some gluten free sausage for me. We will definitely be going back again.

This was my first ever solo trip and I was rather anxious. However, from first meeting the staff, I was put at ease. My room was not at the Inn but a minutes walk down the street. It was in one of the old original buildings and it was perfect. My room had everything I needed, a kettle, tea and coffee, a tv and a modern bathroom. The hairdryer was a wee pink thing that looked pathetic but it was surprisingly powerful. I cannot fault the room - I loved it! Breakfast was cooked to order for me back at the Inn and there was plenty of cereal, fresh fruit juice and toast. The Inn has been renovated and was very comfortable for breakfast. Thanks for a wonderful wee break!

Angus is a great and experienced host and chief. Feels like home but rooms are a little limited in space. Comfy abd modern rooms. Wlan. Bar is the best choice in town. Food lovers should walk to the harbour as food except for breakfast is not offered.Rooms: We slept well.Nearby activities: Ferry to 'Puffin Island' was chosen by us. Walking distance!Walkability: Harbour less than 5 minutes walk

Had an excellent stay in this small Inn. The owners are very friendly, the room was clean, ok bed, didn't use the TV and the bathroom was outstanding. Good shower, with good waterpressure (rainshower and handshower). Note: this was 1 of the few showers we had in any hotel, where the bathroom-floor stays completely dry, e.g. the showerdoors are decent! Also: never had such large towels before, and I like it when they are not white, like these! The breakfast was personal and in the pub, very tasty. Rooms are above pub, but it was not noisy at all.Parking was not possible in the narrow fishertown streets close to the hotel. We parked our car at the boulevard (long term parking), which was 700m walking.Would recommend this place, maybe we will return in the future, Anstruther is a nice startingpoint to explore Scotland further.

More of a traditional pub.Barman was pleasant and joked with punters.Football was on big screens and a good atmosphere.

This was a wonderful find. Fantastic location in a little village close to all amenities. This is a pub with fantastic accommodation. Beautifully clean , modern bedroom with huge king size bed. Breakfast in morning served in pub downstairs was perfect. Loads of choice ( hot and cold). Highly recommend for anyone touring East Neuk.
