My friends from Canada and me came to play golf at Gleneagle. After the round, we had some drinks and lunch at the Auchteradar Seventy bar. When my friend paid for the bill, he noticed the amount on the credit card machine was different from the bill, he then raised the question and the waiter acknowleged it was over-charged for £3. We thought it was just a mistake and accident. The next day, after another round of golf, we went to the same bar for drinks and lunch, when we paid for the bill, the credit card machine over-charged us again compared to the bill. The first time can be considered as an accident, but it happened two days in a row, it just made us feel it is a systematic over-charging practise by the staff. Although each time the over charge were small, but it made us feel very un-comfortable to come back to the place again. My Canadian friend was so kind and he didn't request a refund, but my wife who is a Scottish felt very ashamed and let down by the dodge staff at a high end establishment like Gleneagles in Scotland. Gleneagles hotel and the golf club are excellent places for foreign visitors, but some sneaky staff very tarnish the image of the place.

Unfortunately left unimpressed by the over priced and limited food selection coupled with shoddy service. Also, vegetarians beware, you have been cancelled.£20+ for small scampi and small pot of fries, no veg nor salad. Service was mostly by uninterested staff who required several reminders that we'd ordered tea 15 minutes earlier. Eventually brought us tea for two, half the original amount ordered. Setting and views make up the stars given.

We had lunch here twice, after playing King’s Course and the PGA Centenary. We each had a pizza the first time around and that was good. Second time we decided to go for the curry and that was even better. Service was nice and friendly.

Had a few beers after golf. Nice craft beers and very friendly service. We all loved the peppered nuts and order several small bowls. It was only upon looking at the bill that we saw that they were £5 each. Hey ho. All in all a very nice spot and good starter for the Dormy next door.
