The hospitality here and general ambience was done to absolute perfection - perfectly balancing a homely welcome with feeling you've gone out for a treatThe starter I had (souffle) was fabulous, one of the best starters I've had, the mains were very good but my beef was slightly over the requested order - though the meal was nontheless very enjoyable. The dessert options were traditional and for my personal tastes a little hearty after a very meaty menu. A lighter dessert option and beef cooked to my preference would have earned 5 stars for food however don't be dissuaded by this, the food is still a real treat.

22 High St, AuchterarderSaw the cafe sign and made a quick stop to grab some coffee. So, so glad we did. This place was amazing! Frank and his staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Not only were our drinks delicious, but we were given great recommendations for our next destination. If you're passing through, I highly recommend stopping for a meal or drink.

The Smiddy Haugh
Main Rd, AuchterarderSo I can’t comment on this places food, we were on a long drive and need a loo break, but I can comment on how lovely the vibe was. A log burner going, the lady who greeted us and let us use the loo was delightful. The place smelled amazing and honestly, I’ve favourited it to visit when I’m free. At the very least if you visit here, you’ll be greeted by someone nice and be warm. Thank you again.

Duchally Country Estate, Gleneagles, AuchterarderWe had a lovely early dinner at the restaurant, nice ambiance and the staff were very friendly. The steak was very good, highly recommended. The only downside is maybe the room temperature could be a bit warmer.

Coffee was lovely and it has to be said that at £1.95 for a flat white and £2.20 for the Bridie and absolute bargain was had. Lovely girls working in there too.....all in all a great find ??

168 High St, AuchterarderDecided to try this chippy as we are on holiday, que was out the door (wed night) and we now know why.. food was absolutely delish, had a fish supper and it was by far the best, fresh, perfectly cooked crispy battered fish I’ve eaten in years.. we are going back tonight for another and will definitely be taking a drive from Fife back up soon. Staff very polite, as were the locals we spoke to whilst waiting. 30 mins wait but it was worth it for the fresh cooked food.

Gleneagles Hotel, The, Auchterardermade a lovely gin martini and some lovely vodka cocktails too had the best version of masala papad... somewhere near a masala nachos great view of the kings course, super vibe to watch football good service could spend time waiting for the rest of the group to finish their round of golf located in the clubhouse, do visit the women's restrooms :-)

The food was delicious. The smoked salmon and scallops starters were fresh and tasty. The roast from the trolley was cooked to perfection. The sweet was a bit of a let down and the £13 supplement for cheese seemed a bit of a rip off

Stirling Street, Blackford, AuchterarderWe stopped in after a lovely tour up the street at Tullibardine Distillery. It was a Sunday, and we were trying to navigate our way back into Glasgow and stumbled across this pub so we could sit down with a pint (or two) and do our research. This place is a lovely, cozy little gem. The woman behind the bar was incredibly friendly and could pour a fantastic pint. She and the locals overheard our dilemma and helped us lock down a route for the bus/train out to Glasgow. However, not knowing if we would see service due to shotty Sunday service, we quickly exited out the back (where they have a lovely sitting area/patio) and went on our way. Made the bus within seconds! This is a pub that has the "home" feeling. Great place, wish we could have spent more time there.

Gleneagles Hotel, The, AuchterarderHad dinner here on a Saturday evening. Quite busy but staff very attentive. Wife and i had the Indian thali sharing platter which was a delicious feast that left us very full indeed. Excellent value. Only slight negative was that my seat was about 2 foot away from the kitchen which made it quite warm environment.

Gleneagles Hotel, The, AuchterarderWe ate here for our evening meal as part of our stay at Gleneagles. The staff were very good and checked back regularly. The quality of the food was very good and enjoyable. A couple of things let it down, our steak was undercooked to the way we asked and this wasn’t checked by our server as per the restaurants guidance online. We didn’t raise this as actually the quality of the meat was so good we still enjoyed it a lot. We were sat under a vent which was blowing cold air and it did impact our experience. The staff had tried to get this turned off and the manager came to apologise himself. Overall we are happy to score the restaurant 5 stars as the food was so delicious and for the manager coming over himself to apologise was appreciated.
