Review of Bar & Restaurant. As usual the Cairn is at the heart of any Aviemore visit. The food is the best in town and the staff are all excellent, friendly and welcoming. Just keep the fire lit each night and stop those bouncers keeping a door open! Love the place.

food very good , bar good and location is perfect right in the middle of Aviemore. Our room was a snug and hence was small but clean and warm .The staff are helpful and friendly, thank you for your hospitality I would recommend this hotel.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms good quality, breakfast very tasty and filling. But poor TV reception and very poor WiFi. In the Cairngorms the hotel could benefit from a drying room too.Nearby activities: Centre of Aviemore. Shops and restaurants around. Bus stops outside. Tourist information point less than 5mim walk away.

Excellent food and service. Clean and tidy place to stay in the heart of the Highlands. Thoroughly recommend a visit, whether to stay or just to eat.

I had booked 2 rooms at this hotel for one night as part of a tour of Scotland, which included stays in 3 other hotels. The day prior to our stay, unprecedented weather was encountered in Scotland, which resulted in several fatalities in the local area, extreme flooding, trees and electrical pylons blown over the roads, roofs blown off buildings and a government warning against "all, non-essential travel". Our flights were cancelled, the roads were closed and it was physically impossible to reach the hotel. I rang and asked to cancel our stay. Unlike all the other hotels on our trip, the Cairngorms Hotel insisted on charging us the full rate for our unused booking. They refused to either allow us a refund, a partial refund to reflect the fact they had to provide us zero service or breakfast (and could re-sell the rooms) or even to re-book at a time where our lives would not be in peril in a desperate attempt to reach the hotel. All the other hotels were fully understanding, flexible and allowed us to re-book at a suitable date. I argued my case but was met with a quite rude refusal to listen to reason.I feel that the hotel has done itself a massive dis-service by taking this stance. I will not be staying at this hotel in future, and I would advise others to consider the above when deciding whether to book here or not. There are plenty of other good hotels in Aviemore.

Great place to stay rooms are very clean and beds comfortable. Staff are all lovely. The food is fabulous and right in the middle of Aviemore. Extremely useful if travelling by train as it is opposite the railway station.

Had a gorgeous meal here on Saturday night, the fish pie was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately just a weekend away but otherwise I would definitely be returning!

We walked in for dinner. It was busy but they have a great system where they give you a buzzer to notify you when a table is ready. We were able to have a drink at the bar before moving through for dinner.Lots of choice and also an individual gluten free menu which was great. Very generous portions, good food and top service - we would definitely come back.

Attended for lunch, there was a 30min wait for a table but we were allowed to wait in lounge and received a buzz on the pad they give you to let you know it's ready. Food was delicious and reasonably priced.Myself and my partner took our young child with us and was great to see baby changing facilities in men's and ladies toilets.

I did not stay in the Cairngorm Hotel in Aviemore but they had a pub downstairs and I thought it was great and they served good drinks too. We visited here with family and it was nice to have a catch-up in a very nicely decorated pub. The business pints were a good price too!

First of all I wanted to say a huge thank you to every single member of staff at this wonderful hotel. Myself and my now wife got married in Aviemore last week and we stayed here. The staff could not of been more perfect. Everyone was so kind and genuine from the very first phone call. I spoke with Craig who organised the stay and for us to eat in our room as we were eloping and it would be just the two of us. Nothing was too much for him and he had it all arranged for us arriving. Breakfast was perfect and a special shout out to the breakfast staff especially Helen who was just so lovely and kind. We had a young lady we think her name was Chrissy she was our server for the meal and she too was brilliant. The food was delicious and plentiful and honestly we have been looking at excuses to come back for food ASAP. Thank you for such a great time and we will see you all very soon

Rip off, terrible service apart from 1 guy who gave us our bill and actually looked like he wanted to be there. Sunday 'roast' consisted of 2 pieces of beef, 2 aunt Bessie's roasties, a boiled potato, some frozen carrot and turnip, and a Yorkshire pudding with some flavourless gravy, yours for £15. If you also wanted to be spoken to rudely on entering the building and wanting a table, you can get that here. When asking for table availability, my wife was told it'll be about 40 minutes, she replied that's OK can we wait? The response was "Well you'll have to if you want the table"Awful service and meal. This is a genuine review, I'm very sceptical the 4 and 5/5 reviews are genuine.

Really enjoyed paying for our room for a trip that extreme weather made travel to the area impractical! I’m sure it is a nice property, but historic flooding which was severe enough to stop train services and even led to deaths from the floods, I was unsuccessful in getting the property to reconsider their rigid no cancellation policy. We will skip Aviemore altogether when our highlands trip is rescheduled in the future. Beware of rigid policies!!

Don't expect to get served in the restaurant on a Monday evening unless you are a resident. We just tried and were turned away with 'all other restaurants nearby are closed and we end up getting inundated' This is despite there being several empty tables. Not impressed as nothing on their website to reflect this. Had much better services when we came many years back.
