Two days before Christmas we went into Aulds sweetie shop to buy a treat for our kids. My daughter who is 5 picked a unicorn lolly. We went to pay but I accidentally dropped the lolly and it smashed. My 5 year old began to cry. The two staff members offered to get another one which I was very grateful for as my 5 year old was breaking her heart. The new lolly was brought over and then an older gentleman presumably the manager/owner came over and said we would need to pay for both lollies. The girl serving actually looked embarrassed when she said I would need to pay for both of them. Now admittedly I did break it and therefore it was my fault. But given the circumstances, an upset 5 year old, season of good will and simple customer service would it have been a stretch to let my daughter have a new lolly out of goodwill. It wasn't as though it was an expensive ornament or the fact my kids had been throwing things around the shop. It was a genuine accident. Having worked 25 years in food retail I would never have dreamed of enforcing payment under those circumstances even if it was the customers fault. Luckily I did have enough money on me to pay for both lollies or my daughter would have been distraught. All that's happened is I certainly won't be going back to what is a lovely sweetie shop based on what just felt like disappointing customer service

Great selection of sweets, suggest going when not busy so you can get time to look at the jars. Mind you, if I had done that, I would have spent a fortune. ?

Had a wee stopover at Aviemore and popped into this sweet shop. Such a big collection of sweets and also had a good selection of chocolates! The staff were so nice and Friendly, providing recommendations. Bought a good selection of sweets for our trip, and disappointed that they finished so quickly. Would definitely visit again.

Its a decent place with loads and loads of different sweets at a somewhat reasonable price
I would rate 0 if I could was in the shop today.With my kids had my basket full worth of £40 pounds my we girl only 5 years old drop a lolly and it cracked a little he told her she would need to pay for it she got really upset.The staff are so rude i would never write bad review but honestly if u go in this shop with ur kids don’t let them touch anything .

Thank you lovely staff at Mr simms aviemore for being so kind and patient with my 2 children. They didn't know what to buy and couldn't decide with such a lovely range of sweeties but 50g of 2 choices was no problem. My kids love to be eco friendly and avoid plastic and it was no problem for them to switch to paper bags too. They were very happy! Thanks for being lovely to kids!! ?

Can I just day the customer service was superb. The way the staff had the kids smiling (and not just because we were in a sweet shop) The lady was the nicest and was so chatty with the kids. This shop has world wide sweets to offer and anything you can ever think of-Thank you ?
