Best breakfast in Aviemore. Staff are very pleasant. The Club Sandwich Whopper was fantastic for lunch as well. Parking can be a challenge.

Route 7 is a little hidden gem in Aviemore, why doesn't everyone know about it! I had followed them on Instagram for a while and noticed the amazing daily food updates, so had to get some of the action. We were up in the area for a few days so made sure to have breakfast here at least once. It's located in the Highland Home Centre hidden at the bottom of an industrial estate but it really needs to invest in being in the town centre, it is simply amazing! The food is second to none, all cooked fresh with local ingredients and with a wide variety of breakfast, brunch & lunch items, it's hard to pick what to have. Route 7 is the best place for a bite to eat if you're in Aviemore, pricing isn't too bad and is well worth the slight detour, you won't regret it!

Route is a nice wee spot for a lunch. They make a good sandwich and also a bomber breakfast burrito. Fast service and a nice place to chill and watch a fire. They do have tvs on which can be a bit distracting but there food and coffee is good and the staff do a good job.

Food and drinks were perfect, exactly what we wanted. The service was exceptional, everyone was working hard during a busy morning so produce meals to the highest standards whilst being helpful, polite and efficient. Highly recommend waiting for a seat here.

Was quite happily waiting for waiter to clear table when a waitress butted in was rude and snappy. Her attitude meant we left without ordering. We ended to going to a cafe in the town center which was more expensive but the cost was worth it to be served with a smile.Kid-friendliness: There is no kid friendliness.

Badly run cafe. With the staff/customer ratio they have you would expect to get served quickly but good luck if they pay you any attention. Just one person taking orders and the rest of the staff standing around chatting. After they messed up my order and forgot my food they couldn’t even be bothered to bring me a coffee while I waited - when I asked they just said sorry it’ll be a while before we can find someone to take your order - and then went back to chatting with colleagues. In total spent over an hour here to get 1 sausage roll and then gave up waiting for a coffee, it wasn’t even full.

I will start with the positives. Nice atmosphere, dog friendly and good family venue. Onto the food daughter had Cullen skink, no issues with that. Son and myself had baked potatoes with tuna. It was well presented on the plate and a nice salad to accompany but the potatoes were solid in the middle. We raised the point with staff but advised we could not wait for a replacement as we had no time, a booking to attend and we had our dog. That was fine they apologised and advised they would let the kitchen know and we ate what we could but left the hard potato. When I approached to pay I was advised to pay full price, which was £27 with the waitress advising ‘well you ate it did ye?’ A somewhat diabolical response to a customer who just received raw food. Not to cause a scene with my kids there and being on holiday I paid reluctantly and left. I then took the time once I returned home to share the experience with the cafe by email which was not even acknowledged. Pretty disappointing !!

Lovely place, Staff very nice and pleasant, Had full Scottish Breakfast and it has to be one of the best I've had. Would definitely recommend it and will call again when I'm back in the area.
