Disapointing experience overall, but the biggest shock was the Starters.Serving soggy pieces of torched Hovis loaf as "Bruchetta" in a restaurant in the grounds of a 5 star hotel is NOT acceptable. The restaurant setting is nice and the views are lovely but it was being run by staff who would have been out of their depth working in TGI Fridays.Table booked for 19:45, seated at 20:10.Long wait for drinks - several ingredients for cocktails unavailable.Long wait for starters. 2 options unavailable.Long wait for mains. 2 options unavailable.Didn't bother with deserts. 3 out of 5 options unavailable...Also, the menu online is not what you will be presented with in the restaurant. Your options are far more limited. If they are even available.

I was feeling slightly apprehensive about attending my booking once I read some of the reviews, however I’m glad I didn’t give it a miss! Firstly the service was impeccable, my partner and I had our first drinks order taken soon after we were seated and did not wait long at all for them to arrive. We shared the scallops to start which are 10/10, although the portion size was small considering the price, the taste was worth it. My partner also had the chicken wings starter which he enjoyed however I would give the parmesan fries a miss - fries slightly over cooked and they were presented in a way that meant most of the parmesan was at the bottom. Mains also arrived fairly quickly, large portion sizes for the sea bass and calzone which I’d highly recommend. We went at night time and the atmosphere was still good but I can imagine the stunning views of the loch that would be available during the day so I would take this into consideration before visiting. Overall cannot fault our experience one bit, slightly pricey as some of the other reviews state, we paid roughly £107 (minus the service charge) for 2 starters, 2 sides and 2 mains with 2 cocktails however considering the location this wasn’t too steep in my opinion.

I was a little disappointed last year when I visit the resort every year.Had an upset stomach after the soup in general. This time out of 5 of us attending I can commend the service which is great. The staff are awesome and so accommodating. The food however has a little to be desired. For a boathouse they have removed a lot of their seafood dishes in the last couple of years which seems strange right? The pizzas are amazing and highly recommend if your in the mood for Pizza but most other things tried on the menu were a bit lacking. Dry cold chicken in the ceaser salad, which was also slightly chewy just to mention for a start.Broccoli starter is a bit bland in general and the scallops were ok but nothing special.I honestly just miss the first time I visited here about 3 years ago when we had steak and lobster etc. All cooked perfectly and amazing. Just went downhill now and not really value for money in my opinion. There's a McDonalds down the road that I might rather head to now.

Disappointed. We visit twice a year and this will be the last visit to the Boat House. We had: scallops; chicken wings; soup; torched brocolli for starters. All nice. 2 x chicken caeasar salads, and 2 x pizzas. As lodge owners, we had a buy one get one free pizzas. The chicken added to the caeasar salad was cold and dry. There were an excessive amount of croutons. The pizzas were nice but, when paying the bill we only got either 20% off our total bill or the buy one get one free on the pizza. Shocking. Do not mis-sell us. We feel robbed and won't be back. For a bill of £300 for 4 people, I want to feel fed.

This restaurant was particularly disappointing. The Boat house web site advertised a seasonal menu but when we tried to order we were told that it wasn't available. Not that it had run out, they just weren't serving it that day. Since it was a family party we did stay and selected dishes from their everyday menu. When they arrived they were dreadful. Seriously overcooked - some would say burnt. The service was of a similar standard taking three attempts to get a simple drinks order correct. Had the food been top class it would still have been very expensive for what it was. For such poor food it was extortionate. The saving feature is the location. It is in a beautiful spot right on the edge of Loch Lomond. My recommendation would be that you walk past, enjoy the view and keep going. There are much better establishments close by.

This was our first visit to the boat house and my wife and I had a lovely lunch with a table overlooking the marina..We both had Asian chicken wings as a starter which were delicious. I then had fish and chips which superbly cooked and my wife had prawn and salmon linguine which she thoroughly enjoyed.. the staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back

A lovely restaurant to dine at whilst staying on loch lomand. Food was good for both lunch and dinner. We dined twice during our stay. Wine selection and drinks were good. Would only say ensure the staff confirm your order back to you as 1 dish missed at lunch and wrong size order taken at dinner. Otherwise good as location and view were excellent.

Ok starters.Bland, lukewarm and greasy fish and chips for mains. Very slow service with only a few customers. One pleasant waitress and one less so. This place should be so much
