We had booked Christmas Dinner 5 adults one child £56 pee head .we was the last table in had to wait on table being laid can I say the Dinner was not worth the money Burnet parsnips frozen roast potatoes no sprouts and as for the Christmas pudding it was a joke I'm sure it was malt loaf cold and cold brandy sauce and for the service it was terrible, we felt like they just did not care we left and felt like we wasted are money. We went back in to speak to the owner he was not in ,so we left a contact number and gess what no call ,definitely will not go back.

Lovely folks! Thank you so much for being open on Christmas for people visiting home. Amazing location, friendly faces. Even invited for a drink with the staff!

We booked accommodation at the Fairway for one night while visiting family. The room was thus described on the hotel website: “Deluxe Double Room 20 m² - City view - Private bathroom - Flat-screen TV Featuring free toiletries, this double room includes a private bathroom with a bath, a shower and a hairdryer. This double room has a tea and coffee maker, flat-screen TV with streaming services, city views, as well as wine/champagne for guests. The unit has 1 bed.” The unit does indeed have one bed and a private bathroom. The ‘tea and coffee maker’ is actually a kettle which is perfectly fine. Alas there is no hairdryer and I hadn’t brought one, having checked it would be provided. The only toiletries provided was liquid hand soap in a wall mounted dispenser above the sink - no shampoo, shower gel or soap for the shower though this may have been an oversight as it’s a busy time of year. I was perplexed by the offer of ‘city views’, Bathgate being a small town but the window did indeed show part of the town. There was no wine nor champagne but this wasn’t a deal breaker on booking a room. Just seems odd to promote it on the website if it doesn’t feature. On a more positive level, staff are friendly, the room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The location is also ideal being central with ample parking and very handy for the station if arriving by train. As a stop off for one night it was fine but I would gently suggest that the website descriptions perhaps be amended to more accurately reflect the accommodation, thus allowing future guests to bring essentials such as a hairdryer or shampoo/shower gel.

Booked for Xmas Lunch with in-laws as they're not in best health so cooking not an option and we now live 3 hours away. Starter nice but presentation poor. Main course was awful, mother in law and I had nut roast, dry (despite being drowned in Gravy) and bottom burnt. She only picked at hers. All veg was poor, roasts were like reheated frozen and tough as old boots. Desert OK but for £65 pp it was like school dinners! Poor portions, quality and presentation. Complained to waitress but she said "aw, I'll pass on". Of course meal all pre paid so they weren't actually bothered. Very disappointing ?

Myself, other half and two friends booked here last night for dinner. I had never been for food before however had heard good things. We will all be back, the food was DELICIOUS with very generous portions, the staff were welcoming and friendly and the place was clean and warm on what was a freezing night, overall just a lovely experience.

Very noisy from the road. Floor and flooring very uneven. Decor very poor. Booked for 2 nights only stayed one. Breakfast very greasy!

Thanks to Alan, Seonaid & the team for excellent service & organisation on Saturday 2nd Dec'23. We held our daughters 21st birthday party at the function suite. Family & Friends had a great time & nothing was to much trouble.

A dear friend of mine passed away recently. His widow booked this venue for the wake, allowing mourners to share a meal and a drink or two in his memory. The staff were very respectful and appropriately dressed. A buffet lunch was prepared in advance of our arrival, and the food was brought straight to our reserved seating immediately when the guests arrived. There were other diners in the restaurant, and I thought it was a nice touch that we had been seated apart from the other guests, allowing our party to share memories of the departed, and allowing the diners to enjoy their meal without distracting our sombre occasion. We were seated by the large windows, giving us plenty of light without being too bright; if there is one criticism I would make about the venue, it is that the restaurant is quite dim in the areas away from the windows, which are only along one wall. The venue has a large function suite adjacent to the hotel & restaurant, which can be used for larger occasions—the dear departed and his window had held their wedding reception at this venue. It boasts a reasonably sized wooden floor suitable for dancing and would comfortably cater for several dancing couples. The hotel is quite small, with just five or six rooms, and booking in advance of your arrival would be advisable, especially at weekends. That said, I have always been able to reserve a room on the same day as my visit. The rooms have always been immaculate and as clean as one would expect. All rooms have en suite bathroom and bathing facilities, with both bath and power-shower.Each room has a television with remote control, as well as a kettle with a selection of complimentary teas and coffee.Breakfast is included in the price of your room and is served until 9.30 am in the restaurant. The hotel is situated a few minutes walking distance from Bathgate train station, with regular services into Edinburgh, making this an excellent place to stay after a night out in Edinburgh City centre.Excellent value for money, especially since breakfast is included, you'd be hard pushed to find a cheaper alternative.

Brilliant little find. The excellent staff makes this a 5 ⭐ 5 mins walk from Bathgate train station. Will definitely return if I am in the area.
