Food was good, some of the sauces had run out and hadn’t been replaced and a couple of the vegetables looked like they had been out a while.It looked like they were low on staff the night I visited, which may be the reason they were unable to keep up with everything.

The food was amazing, the server at the carving station was lovely as well.The only thing stopping me giving full marks is that where we were sat was kind if abandoned and we get to go find someone so we could pay our bill..Dietary restrictions: As a coeliac I enjoy the freedom of choosing my own food. A lot of staff members are clued up on what is gluten free.Parking: Plenty of parking.

We booked ‘breakfast with Santa’ for the 10:40am booking. There was no staff hosting to seat us to our table or give us clear directions on the plan for the ‘event’. The Santa was scheduled to leave at 11am so we were eventually greeted by a barman advising he would try get Santa to stay on later than planned for us to be able to see him but he want sure if he would, despite us turning up in time for our booked slot. there was a Que for Santa which we were advised to leave if we wanted food because breakfast was being removed at 11am and then The food had clearly been sitting out since the beginning of breakfast serving as it was cold and stale/overcooked.Every single table around us was dirty and full of dirty dishes despite all 4 members of staff sitting at an empty table next to us to have their tea break. The staff were friendly and apologetic but it felt like nobody appreciated how to run a Santa event that would be able to keep the magic alive for kids. The venue felt dirty and cold and unwelcoming with no Christmas atmosphere.Santa was friendly and good with our little boy. For the money, the gift given by Santa was nice. Overall, a lot of potential but very poorly ran in our experience. Would be very disappointed if this was our only family Santa visit experience all December. Feel it www very sloppy and unprofessionally organised.

Not great really - my husband & I had only just arrived & were already being told that a lot of items on the menu were unavailable & no stock left but also when we finally did get to the carvery which was available they assumed that I wanted the main carvery but I actually wanted a pastry item & that took longer to get someone back to our table to have that ordered - then my husband had to wait for a while for someone else to actually carve the meat & the veg & macaroni cheese I added on to my plate was dry & hard but also the pastry was supposed to be broccoli & brie but it never tasted of any brie inside & was also dry so the only part I actually liked was the ice cream desserts we ordered for afterwards

Came here last night with my husband to be told there was no turkey on the menu I don’t eat any other kind of meat so was told I could choose a starter off the menu but we were going out for a meal so decided to go elsewhere for food and come back for a few drinks, we went to order dessert to be told there was no cheesecake, then thought we would have some crisps she rattled off what kind they had we chose cheese and onion to be told the actually didn’t have any. Place was dead so don’t understand why they were so low on stuff. We heard a member of staff shouting across the bar to another member of staff talking about my husband but they didn’t know we were still in the bar very unprofessional and not how paying customer should be spoken about. I wouldn’t return here for that reason
Great food and service from Ann was amazing. The restaurant was busy which added to the festive feeling. Carvery was delicious as well. Will definitely be back!Parking: Car park right outside restaurant and plenty of spaces.

Booked a table for my wife and I to have a carvery and was greeted to be told there was no Turkey available so we decided to go elsewhere to get food as a carvery with out Turkey just isn’t a carvery.We came back after getting food as we were staying at the Premier Inn next door and decided to have a couple of drinks to wind down a busy day, went to order a slice of cheesecake and it turned out they didn’t have any of that, so tried to order some crisps to snack on and low and behold they had no cheese and onion- choice available was pretty poor!Minus the atmosphere being relaxing and the service team being friendly the visit to Toby Carvery at Bathgate Farm was a total flop.

Can’t fault the staff. Travelling from wales and popped in for a bite to eat, was seen by two lovely lady’s, one of them had a good chat with us and really made a difference in the experience of our visit from just being a eat and leave to having a pleasant experience. Chef cutting the meat, was great as well, again had a conversation with us and made a difference in the visit. Food was delicious as well!

I had an outstanding experience at Toby Carvery, where the homely atmosphere made the dining experience truly delightful. Jamie, who worked there, was exceptionally nice and demonstrated excellence in his job.
